Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOur room's plumbing was somewhat antiquated. We had 5 pips (yes, as in grapefruit pip sized) coming out of the bathroom area taps! No idea how they would have gotten there. The toilet had a poor flush and the bath, very nice, and deep, though it was, took ages to drain. If two wanted a bath then sharing (together, or just the water) would be the only option to waiting for 20-minutes.
This hotel is beautifully place, in the perfect position to enjoy the view of the estuary, and the setting sun over the vineyard running down to the river. The room we had faced this view. The layout of the room was both attractive and functional, and the shower was powerful. All members of staff were great, very helpful and pro-active, particularly Gareth at the front desk. The facilities are also very good; the poolside restaurant and the pool area itself being very enjoyable. The pantry on our corridor was a great facility, especially the beautiful cake and fruits left there at "tea time"! The hotel also has examples of some exquisite sculptures and other art works. The (wood chip?) human figures are particularly beautiful, especially when bathed in the light of sunset. While we are not "foodies", this hotel is known for its culinary delights. Food & wine lovers will enjoy the excellent menu, while those who just want a meal are also well catered for.

United KingdomNothing to say.
A beautiful setting, the views were amazing. The grounds, the outdoor pool, the sculptures, the staff, the food, the lovely bar and restaurant and hotel decor, and finally the rose wine from the vineyard - everything was just so special.

United KingdomBeyond anyone’s control but being there in August we were hoping to use the pool house. The set up there is lovely but goes without saying you need the weather! Such a shame to see it empty.
The staff were exceptional and the panoramic views of the estuary were spectacular. The art work around the place was also a nice touch

United KingdomBetter management of noisy gardeners. They cut the grass throughout the day using noisy petrol strimmers and blowers spoiling the ambiance. A change to electric machines would be a good idea. Or cut the grass when it is raining and customers aren't sunbathing by the pool area.
Breakfast was lovely and great views to the estuary & we especially enjoyed eating in the Pool Bar/Restaurant. Great staff too. The lovely woodland walks with displays of Fine Art. Easy access to the coastal walk paths.

United KingdomIt lists itself as 5 Star but I’m afraid it lacks a number of issues relating to what 5 Star means. Dogs supposed to be on leads at All times however they were not and no correction seen. Had to be asked what room I was in a number of times. Welcome card had incorrect name written on it …. To name a couple. 5 star treatment means attention to detail in guests not having to certain things. It also does not give the right to charge service charges for everything little thing.A little work is required by the establishment if they want me to return.
Very nice location with fantastic views, food and service of it very good

United KingdomNot sufficient staff at breakfast. We had to keep asking for items and they needed to be reminded to bring my breakfast out to the table. The table next to us told us that they had to go into the kitchen themselves to get items! The plumbing in the room wasn’t great and the cleanliness in the ladies cloakroom needed attention on arrival. I had to inform the staff- although, they did deal with it immediately. The breakfast wasn’t up to a Michelin Star restaurant- not enough staff on hand or choice with buffet. We’ve stayed at quite a few MS restaurants to know the difference. Sorry, but the management need to know. I’ve never had to write in this section before so please pay attention to my comments.
Great location and dog friendly. All the staff at the Pool restaurant were amazing as was the lady receptionist on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, there was a French gentleman on duty outside and in the restaurant on Monday afternoon who was not so welcoming! Surely, all staff should be trained to a 5 star standard? Sorry Michael but you need to know. Happy to discuss further if necessary.

United KingdomHaving had lunch at the hotel, we had booked the Pool House restaurant for a light bite in the evening, however, there really didn't seem to be an option just to have a snack/light meal, only 2 courses, which was more than we really wanted.
Superb lunch, (as to be expected, probably deserves a second Michelin starin our opinion!) Wonderful views. Very interesting vineyard tour. Lovely choice for breakfast, skilfully prepared. Comfy bed, even our 'Classic Room' was beautifully appointed. All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful

United KingdomThe check process was very stressed. We knew were early and just wanted to walk the grounds and had no expectation of a room being available however my wife felt she was dealt with in a very rude manner. Also that is our 7th night staying and still have yet to see Michael Caines. This is disappointing as we love the relationship building with our favoured establishments.
The food was superb both in the evening and for breakfast. The young man working the bar was great fun and determined to provide the best Bloody Mary cocktail he could. He even followed up after our meal to give me an example of sake and yuzu to make a better textured drink. Always thinking, I love that. The temp sommelier with lovely designer round glasses was a delight all evening and even came to see us as we checked out. Daniele Lanciano works so hard and is a great example of a top notch manager. The head chef Jordan Denning was great when we were shown around the kitchen and pass and gave us time even though they were busy.

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Lympstone Manor Hotel is set in the most beautiful peaceful & tranquil location, the estuary that surrounds it is stunning. The staff are friendly and kind and always at hand if you needed anything seen to. Our room had incredible views across the estuary and the beautiful well kept gardens. The king size bed was so comfortable, the best I have ever slept in. We had a fabulous evening entertainment with the Shanty Men, in the pool house restaurant, along with an impeccable fish dinner and excellent wine pairing with each course. I had the great pleasure of also meeting Michael Caines, Michelin chef who is such a kind and lovely man. Lympstone Manor offers luxury, a place where you can enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds it, a place to celebrate a special occasion. I can’t wait to return.

SwitzerlandOn the 2nd day we went to the Pool House. Unfortunately this was not so good. The fillet beef was well done and after complaining the second service with the fillet beef was rare or not cooked. Too bad for the meat

United KingdomThere was nothing not to love.
What an experience! Though we stayed only two nights, we both felt as though we had been there for weeks, such is the slow pace and relaxing atmosphere at Lympstone Manor. The food (we experienced Michael's signature tasting menu, a champagne afternoon tea and the included breakfast) was every bit the wizardry that you would expect from having such a respected and commended figure at the helm. The staff could truly not do enough for you in every instance. The rooms were the ultimate in luxury; the beds extremely comfortable and we LOVED the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Another highlight was the new pool and pool-house. I thoroughly enjoyed my nice warm swim on a beautiful February day. As a final added bonus we had a lovely chat with Michael who was so lovely. Both of us feel so calm and relaxed as a result of our short stay and can't wait to return!
