Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

The room was a very clean, comfortable and pleasant space. For a yacht sailor who has had a wet day, there was plenty of hanging space to dry things without making the room unpleasant. It was very quiet at night, both outside (I had a rear facing room) and inside with a very quiet air conditioner.

United KingdomTwice before I got up in the morning, the door to my room was opened. I can only assume that this was by the cleaning staff. Nothing was said and the door closed immediately afterwards but as this before my check out time. I was not impressed and said so on checking out.
The room was clean and comfortable and properly stocked. The air conditioning worked and there was an iron and board - all useful.

United KingdomThe carpets throughout have become quite stained. Visible bleach splashes and stains can be seen throughout the hallway and rooms of which we had two. My room had two rather large red stains outside the bathroom door which looked like blood stains to me. Both rooms had duvet covers with large splits at the seams exposing the (unwashed) duvet underneath, which as a clean freak is an ick for me. Under the sofa bed duvet and on the top sheet where you lay (as I inspected for bed bugs) a short curly hair was found which wasn’t great. There was a nasty looking stain underneath this sheet which sits on top of the sofa bed and as the sheets aren’t fitted sheets, risked moving so my daughter could have rubbed on this which could have been food or baby poo to be honest as this was still of a consistency where it still needed to be cleaned off before the sheet was placed on it. We had to tell our daughter that it was mustard otherwise she’d have refused to sleep in the bed. I found the beds to be very firm which were to hard for me personally but that’s just my personal preference due to a back problem it wasn’t that comfy but the other adult with me in the adjoining room didn’t have an issue.
I really like the Lodge at Solent and have stayed here several times before. One thing that is of most importance to me is cleanliness and have always felt in the past that this place is better than others. It probably still is but I feel a little money needs to be spent to bring it up to its past standards.
