Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe WiFi is a bit weak, but to be expected in that area. Not an issue for us but could be if anyone needed to work from the lodge.
The location is ideal for Killin, or going further round the loch, and is easy to find off the main road. The lodge is ideal for a group or family, and there is outside space for eating/drinking too. We had an issue with the dishwasher on our first day, and it was sorted out immediately. Good instructions for entry, our stay, and departure.

United KingdomThe beds (mattresses and pillows) were quite hard, and the WiFi was very slow, however the phone signal is excellent so it was quite easy to hotspot anything that needed internet.
It was in a great location, right on Loch Tay… Everything was within half an hour. great for paddle boarding, kayaking, boat trips, with some lovely sights and places to go, things to do.

United KingdomI personally felt we were in a lodge 'street' which I wasn't keen on. Our 'view' from a very nice balcony area was a row of parked cars and terraced lodges. I would happily pay a little more for a nicer setting. Having said that we were just pleased to have got somewhere at relatively short notice.
The general location of the lodge is excellent. Nice and handy for Killin and Ben Lawers with plenty of scope for serious hillwalking or simple rambles. We didn't have much contact with the owner/staff but they seemed a pleasant easy going trio.

United Kingdomthere wasn’t anything we didn’t like, the only improvement that could be made to the place would have been an extra bathroom if using the lodge for 8 people.

United KingdomThe only issue we faced is there isn't any food they cater to. But then the place is so perfect and a well equipped kitchen means you can cook up your hearts desire. Plus there is a Co-Op down the road , about 5minutes drive, so you wont ever starve.
The lodge is so beautiful, impeccably clean and the staff is very responsive. The location is convenient and connects to beautiful attractions. It is spacious, well equipped and feels like home away from home. We were a family of 7 and we hated going back home at the end of our stay. In all honesty we won't ever be looking at any other cabin to stay in for our next family vacation. This is going to be our place.

United KingdomThere were hidden fees with this property. As a non-family, we were charged an extra £50 per adult. This wasn't in the origional booking costs and, despite 'typically replying in 24hrs', the management waited 10 days to get to me ref querying this additional fee - conveniently, the day after our free-cancelation finished. Guests are also charged for elecricity and are charged for basic amenities, including towels. The lodge wasn't clean when we arrived, lots of cobwebs around the lodge and crumbs on the dining room table. There was mould in the bathroom. The elecricity is on a timer and it cut power to the fridge/freezer when we were out during the day and over night.
The lodge is in a really good location, just outsode of Killin with good access to the surrounding hills. The staff at check in were loveley and really helpful.

United KingdomThe outside space was basically in the carpark and overlooked by all the other lodges, as it was not on it's own but in a terrace of lodges.
The lodge was clean and tidy inside.
