The stairs but only because I'm so unfit!! Haha. I did book this knowing there was no lift and it was fine - i could work off some of the lovely cocktails from the bar on my way up to the room. The staff offered to help with luggage.

In a great location with lovely rooms, staff were great. Special shout to Luke who was fantastic, had lots of local knowledge and recommendations for us. He was always there to help or ask us how our day was, remembering parts of previous conversations. The bed and pillows were so comfy.

Bathroom was a little tatty - sliding door had was swollen from soaking up water from bathroom floor and so was difficult to open and close

There wasn’t a fan, and it was too noisy outside to open the window to get air.

Great location, really close to the train and bus station and great shopping and restaurants. Staff was very kind and helpful! Great value for such a nice room!

Fantastic find in the centre of Liverpool. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Room was very good, bed so comfortable. Best breakfast in town, downstairs in the café. Cocktails at night time very good! Will definitely be back!

The only thing that is a pain and it’s a very small thing in room 103 the bathroom door needs to be replaced the shower is amazing but the door means the water can flood the bathroom. I have stayed in the room 3 times in the last 18 months and it’s the only issue I’ve every had.

Staff are amazing I always stay at the lock and key when I stay in Liverpool. The staff go above and beyond, hotel clean and comfy beds. Hotel is spotless and I will continue to rebook at the lock and key for my stays in Liverpool.

Absolutely nothing

I can not rate this hotel and their staff highly enough. We stayed for 4 nights at lock and key as we were getting married in liverpool. The room was beautiful, lovely and clean and very comfortable, like the hotel. The restaurant and food was amazing. The staff at the hotel are wonderful and nothing is to much trouble for them, they are very kind and make sure that everything is right for you and luke is wonderful and I can't thank him enough for everything he did. Will definitely be back.

One mirror in main room well away from the socket so it was difficult to do my hair! Also the shower head was large but shower tray not big enough so floor was sopping afterwards.

We have stayed here several times before and enjoy the general ambiance. Our room was comfortable and spacious. We made use of the Hanover Street multi-story pre-booked discount which was a bonus. We like the small bar area and regret that we had to leave too early for breakfast on this particular occasion. We will certainly be back.

Nothing to not like about this hotel.

The location of this hotel was absolutely superb. Just a min walk from Liverpool one and the bus station. The staff were extremely helpful,they couldn't do enough for their guests. I booked a cosy double room which was a bit tight but we had every facility we needed in our room. We travel to Liverpool reguarly and this hotel has been a wonderful find. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Liverpool. Thank you Lock & Key.

Welcoming, friendly staff and great location for this family-owned vintage hotel. Fun cafe/bar on site. Good a la carte breakfast options. Liked the cozy guest lobby and appreciated assistance with carrying our luggage up/down stairs. Walk or taxi to restaurants, shopping, waterfront, cathedral and more.
