The only criticism I can offer is that the dinner options are quite pricey and a limited choice and would maybe benefit from a slightly wider less pricey selection.

Great welcome at check in and even got my bag taken to the room. Very comfortable room with amazing views. Cosy guest lounge to relax in pre and post dinner with an open fire. Food veers more towards fine dining but was generally excellent. The property has had new owners for the last 8 months and from reading previous reviews they have definitely made many great improvements and I would love to come back again some time and see not only the spectacular surrounding scenery but to see how they continue to put their own stamp on this lovely property.

The plumbing is very old so the toilet was not working and the stream in the shower was very poor, almost impossible to take a shower.

Gorgeous location with the view on the loch. Wonderful staff. Loved the fireplace. Great launchpad to explore the surrounding coast area. The new management is clearly excited and driven to make the place even more special.

The water supply is a bit restricted, But the host is working on this.

This is a classic old Scottish hotel on the side of Loch Maree near a big nature reserve., If you can stand the ticks, you can feed the deer in the evening. It is amazingly quiet and a beautiful location. The host was extremely charming, helpful and friendly. The hotel was immaculately clean. Breakfast was good, Restaurant was a bit pricey, but it is in the middle of nowhere. There is a comfortable bar and guest lounge.

The property has recently been taken over by new owners. There are a few teething problems with the room which didn’t affect the stay and I’m sure there will be improvements to make it a first class stay.

A great location next to Loch Maree and a character building. Very helpful staff who made the stay very enjoyable. The food was locally inspired and delicious.

The bar and lounge could do with being made more cosy to encourage guests to not retire to their rooms. Tv didn’t have a great reception. Would prefer a shower rather than a bath

Beautiful location on the shore of Loch Maree. The hotel has a rich history but is a little lacking in personality. The welcome is warm and the hotel manager cannot do enough to help. Maybe needs soft lighting and a roaring fire and the bar and lounge areas would be much more snuggly.

Four poster bed, amazing views of the loch. Fantastic host, excellent dinner and breakfast. We left something in reception and were telephoned very quickly and could go back to retrieve it before we left the area.
