Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Germany- It was very hot and it was not particularly a hot day. - We arrived at 3.30 pm (time of check in being 3pm, and having already let them know our time of arrival) and the room wasn't ready. We had to go for a walk and come back an hour later. - the charge for a deposit before stay through a different app other than booking is a bit tedious. The deposit was still refunded a few days after our departure without having to ask for it, so not so bad after all.
Nice place for a short stay. Comfortable bed, the place was very clean and easy to access. It has an elevator which is always very useful. Overall, would recommend for a short stay, as the value for money was good.

AustraliaI was messed around trying to get in. It wasn't until 45 mins after check in time that i got an email with the rather abstruse instructions as to how to get in. This was after waiting around for 2 hours (I arrived at about 1pm as I told them a week earlier) There are no staff so if you have a problem bad luck! I called the provided phone number repeatedly but no one answered. For a business in a service industry they should look up what that word means. The room faced south and became unbearably hot. I spent at least one night with the fan on all night

ColombiaThe location was horrible. It is definitely NOT in the city center, and it is in a very lonely neighborhood in the middle of a dark, lonely and dangerous looking street. The shared facilities (kitchen and laundry room) were dirty and lacking proper maintenance. The oven was very filthy and did not work. Although the property manager told us that it was because the switch was off, we had already tried turning on and off all the switches. VERY dirty washing machines. The kitchen had a fridge but had a post it which indicates that it is for exclusive use of private tenants After paying for my stay I was charged with an additional £150 as a “deposit” which is supposedly going to be reimbursed within 5 days after checkout (Note that it has NOT been reimbursed yet). This ammount is EXCESSIVE, and it is NOT just a hold in your credit card, but an actual charge. The staff were very unwelcoming via WhatsApp prior to our arrival. Our “welcome message” was a message threatening with cancelling our reservation (regardless of it being 100% paid), if we didn’t pay the £150 deposit within the next few hours. Additionally the property policies state that any message sent to the property management via WhatsApp (the only communication channel) after 9 pm would be penalized with a £50 fine which is ABSURD and abusive! Even though the price is low compared to other options, it is not worth the money. I recommend you spend a couple of additional pounds and stay in a way better place.
There is a vanity mirror and a hairdryer in the room.
