Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhat I am about to write in no way dampened our experience but if I had to say anything negative our room was at the end of a corridor next to a big fire escape door which could be used to access the car park. Someone past 11:30pm used the door and it slammed disturbing us, same again at 6:20. So no lie in but we did get to use the spa before breakfast because of this. The decor in the room was a little outdated aswell, nice but it certainly didn't match the rest of the hotel which is beautiful. Weird scratch marked above the headboard (say no more 😬) Shower was good but doors very squeaky and loud to pull open and closed so maybe a little upgrade needed for that room. Because I booked through bookin.com I had to pay £15 extra to park in the car park. I knew this so not a problem (just forgot on the day) you could if you wanted just park on the street outside and that would save you the fee. But that is literally all I have.
The hotel was fabulous, set in lovely grounds, we sat and had a beer on the terrace before dinner which was lovely. The decor of the main hotel is really lovely, you actually have to walk around and have a look when you first get there. The dining room is just beautiful. The Spa! Had everything you need and more. A salt room, sauna, ice room, steam room (my favourite) a long pool with a selection of jacuzzi baths, stand up or sit down. Open until 9pm we actually got chance to chill out there after dinner. Bath robes and flip flops were provided for the spa too. They have an outside pool but it's being upgraded at the moment so it's currently closed off (may24) The food was amazing, my husband had fish and chips and I had moules and frites. We ate in the brasserie but you can choose the dining room which is a rosette experience. The staff were really lovely and friendly making you feel welcome. The room itself was clean and tidy and we had a door which led out to a little terrace where we could sit and have a cup of tea. Nice selection of drinks and because I mentioned it was my husband's birthday on the booking there was a balloon ties to a plate with 4 handmade chocolates on there waiting for him! Such a lovely touch! We have 2 children and this was the perfect place to get away for the evening and just be husband and wife. Something we aren't able to do very often! Only an hour from home it was the perfect distance away. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody and everybody!

United KingdomFrom the moment we walked through the doors the hospitality was phenomenal. We felt instantly relaxed. Our room was immaculately clean and spacious. The spa facilities are amazing. We had dinner at The Dining Room on our first night and the food was delicious. The flavours, presentation, everything was so well thought out. On our second evening we ate at The Brasserie, although more informal, the food was delicious, especially the moules mariniere. Some of the best I've ever had. Overall, it was a perfectly relaxing stay and we will definitely be back.

United KingdomWe stayed at the hotel because we had a funeral in Devon.we went to breakfast early as we had tight schedule. The guy who served us forgot to hand our order to the kitchen. So we waited 40mins for a breakfast. We didn’t have time to eat.It made what was going to be a stressful day even more stressful.
Love the hotel and spa. Have stayed here before.

Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere. Comfortable, clean and quiet room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would have extended the stay if we hadn’t made prior arrangements. We will definitely be back!

United KingdomThere’s little to dislike really, so I’m digging deep here and putting the magnifying glass over things. Although we were quickly offered assistance, it’s worth noting that there is no lift in the hotel. There are no baths in the rooms (although this is rather made up by the spa). The views from the rooms are very limited (as far as I can tell). We chose the room labelled as “refurbished king“. It was very good and with a lovely, large bed. Although rather irrelevant, the view from the window was poor. It did make me wonder though, what your experience would be if you had chosen a non-“refurbished“ room. Breakfast is excellent and the food and ambience in their brasserie is also very good. We did have an issue though during dining on the one evening that we decided to treat ourselves. The ambience is good although there was not a huge range of choice available and the waitress had to describe to us a number of items that were “not available“. I happen to choose an item where I would’ve liked some fries as a side dish. (yes I know, let’s not go there :-)). I’d had these the night before in the brasserie. Upon asking for them, it appeared that it was not possible to bring this side dish from the brasserie into the dining room. The waitress seemed in a quandary and we began to see some evidence that the restaurant might be run separately to the rest of the hotel. This may seem something of a niggle but at this price point, you will draw comparison with other offerings. My advice would be to either eat in the brasserie, and ask to check food availability and options before you decide to dine.
The hotel is set in a lovely building which clearly use to be one of the commanding properties over Torquay. The outstanding aspect of the hotel is its spa. Accessible from within the hotel, it is a combination of traditional pool with a huge Jacuzzi. Instead of the usual jacuzzi bowl where you all sit looking at each other, this runs the whole length of the pool and offers not only space, but a range of water “treatments“, as you move through it with a number of places to sit. There are additional rooms in the spa such as sauna, steam room et cetera. Altogether fantastic. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Torquay, High up. It’s quite feasible to walk down to the town, but an energetic walk back up. Hotel has a range of dining for breakfast, brasserie, and restaurants. Car parking is super but you will pay £20 a day for the privilege.

United KingdomRoom is fairly small but we were aware and didn't mind. I forgot my bank card on check in but the receptionist was helpful in how else I could prove I made my booking.
We stayed on my fiancé's birthday. The hotel kindly gifted us four truffles hand made by chef Jordon with a happy birthday baloon. The truffles were divine. The rooms was clean and comfortable with good facilities. We had a bath with shower over. I love that the hotel used temple spa products throughout and had it in the bathroom in refillable bottles. Felt like such a treat to wash my hair in the temple spa shampoo. Breakfast was amazing. I had Greek yogurt with granola, pastries, fruit juice and a cooked vegetarian breakfast. My fiance absolutely loved the spa as did I!!! Its new and the rooms plus pools are wonderful. You can even call reception to have alcoholic drinks brought down to you. True holiday mode! Thank you Lincombe Hall, we will certainly be back soon.

We enjoyed everything about this hotel, we stayed in one of the apartments which was superb. The way that the buffet breakfast was laid out was absolutely perfect and the food was excellent. The staff were so helpful and friendly and it felt like they enjoyed working at this hotel. The spa and treatment facilities were excellent.
