Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomBreakfast! “Roasted potatoes” in the fried breakfast. Hmmm, I wouldn’t call over boiled halved new potatoes that have been dried to a crisp under a grill “roasted potatoes” disgusting. The rest of the fair was pretty average. Never mind.
Location and beds were very comfortable. Nice and quiet location. Staff super helpful and friendly.

The hotel was in a lovely old building with lots of character. The bedrooms were quite spacious, very clean, nicely furnished in muted colours and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom ( with a shower over the bath ) was modern and clean. There is a lift, which is useful with suitcases, and the entrance to the hotel is secure with a 24 hr buzzer system. Breakfast was really delicious with lots of choices available and the hot cooked breakfast was to order ( so none of the congealed breakfast buffets you get in some hotels !!) . The staff were all very friendly and helpful . The very centre of Edinburgh is a 15 min walk but the 27 bus stop is near the hotel and will take you to the centre. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and, if you don’t like the big modern hotels and want something with character but still extremely comfortable and offers quality amenities then this comes highly recommended .

I had an early flight, so didnt sleep.Had breakfast and slept for 2 hours. Comfy bed, but a bit too soft. Breakfast was nice, but the buffet/ table service combination leaves guests hopping up for everything you need. I overheard a male waiter repeating how I wanted my food, as if I was being demanding. Hotels are a service industry, you give the customer what they ask for without making an issue of it! If a customer asks for something they forgot, don't tell them to go get it yourself!

United KingdomThis is an old hospital. The windows are the old sash types with an additional pane of glass overlaid. They could do with a clean to be honest as we tried to close one tighter to minimise the traffic noise as we were facing the road.
The location was great for central Edinburgh. We didn't try the breakfast as were meeting others. There appears to be on-site parking but we didn't need on this occasion.

SwedenThe mattress in the sofa bed in the room for three, was too soft. We could not get a firmer mattress. But we were given a duvet, it helped to a certain extent.
The place was very well situated, we could walk to all interesting places. We had as a family 2 rooms next to each other, very secluded which was good. Peaceful area. Nice staff.

If you like to use Uber, they were very accessible and reasonable in price. The staff were very nice and helpful. Recommend including the breakfast - a great way to start the day.
