To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomI couldn’t have any breakfast as a child sneezed all over it. I told a member of staff who informed me that everything would be changed. It wasn’t. The beans were just stirred and everything else was left for the guests to eat. I’m afraid I wasn’t eating that.

United KingdomComplimentary water bottles in the room would have been nice. The view from the room was the hotel lobby, which meant the lighting in the room wasn't great.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, had many of the usual buffet options. The room was spacious for 2 adults and a toddler. The room and hotel were generally quite clean. Free parking even though it said £7 a day on booking.com

The location is good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Cleaning the room every 3 days is very appropriate. The breakfast menu is very good.

United KingdomThe hotel carpet in communal areas gave the appearance of being worn out! I personally didn’t like the pattern and found it did an injustice to the hotel communal environment! Shame!
Ideal location. Staff excellent and nothing was too much! Friendly service and were a credit to the hotel. The room was clean and spacious. Room comfortable.

United KingdomThere were no waste bags in the in room bin and bathroom bin (not sure if by design or missed by house keeping) and an extra toilet roll would have been a bonus. Also, the air con button lights, lead to a disturbed night as are very bright and cast a light across the whole room.
The overall experience was good from start to finish. Fairly prompt check in and room was nice and spacious and clean. Friendly staff on arrival and the young lad serving coffee at the bar the next morning, went above and beyond and finished the stay off with 5* service and memories.

My room was clean and comfortable, everything worked and I was given bottles of water and hot chocolate. Bed was clean and comfortable

United KingdomI could hear peoples doors closing at night and it kept waking me up. I’m a mum of 2 and I had booked myself into the hotel to get a good nights sleep but I didn’t really get it. It was also cold. I needed extra blanket which I couldn’t find in the room. I turned the heating on but it didn’t seem to help.
Breakfast was lovely, room was lovely and clean and well laid out. Staff were polite and helpful.
