Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandBreakfast was lovely but could have done with some fresh breads. Only offered a sliced pan.
First time being in a hotel with a few dogs around. It was very sweet and well done. Lovely for people who consider their dog an important family member.

United KingdomThere was a slight fault with bath/shower, the plug would not close so I couldn’t run a bath and the shower head had a leak but as we still managed to use it I would say this was a very minor problem.
Excellent location, our family room was bigger than expected and with a lovely sea view. Beds were very comfortable and facilities very clean. Excellent breakfast, good value for money. All staff were very accommodating and friendly. Overall, the hotel had a lovely and relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful interiors and lounge area to enjoy an evening drink.

United KingdomThe restaurant was a little expensive. Breakfast service on Sunday morning was not great. The hotel was very busy due to an event the previous evening. Coffee pots are very small, and no refills are offered
It's a fantastic location right on the sea front. A family run hotel, staff are very helpful.

Really location up the beachy head end of Eastbourne, good sea view and nice park and restaurant in front of hotel. Staff great, breakfast was good, and for 3 of us the family room was great (1 adult, 1 baby, one 9 year old).

United KingdomRoom we got was not so great. Was set up for disabled persons, so basin and mirror in bathroom were too low. I guess we didn’t pay for a view so we certainly didn’t get one.
Location is great. Especially for a walk to Seven Sisters. Breakfasts were excellent. Staff were super friendly and efficient.

United KingdomOne of the bedroom’s decor was tired in comparison to the other guest room we had .
The staff were friendly & efficient. The breakfast was well organised & there was an excellent choice of items to suit everyone. I particularly like the fact that you pre order your tea , coffee & toast no queuing at the horrible machines !

United KingdomNeeded good reading lights and a shower one could adjust temperature wise. The shower was in the bath and came from the bath taps. It was impossible to get a reasonable temperature. If you turned up the hot it was boiling. Turn up the cold it was very cold. As a result one could not have a shower.
The room had very nice decor ( lovely curtains and painting on the wall). Good modern bathroom with mixer taps on the basin and shelves for wash bags etc. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very nice looking furniture ( wardrobe chest of drawers and bedside table) The room was compact but had everything needed and was nice. Helpful staff. Lovely general areas in the hotel.

United KingdomKitchen was short staffed at breakfast time, so delays in receiving breakfast in room, when requested as part of the room service. Ended up collecting it myself. But kitchen staff apologised for the inconvenience. And did not charge the £5 fee (per day) it otherwise would have cost.
Great location, very close to shops and restaurants. And just a short walk to the town centre. Stayed in a lovely seaview room. And the hotel is only steps from the beach. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff.

United KingdomThe restaurant at the hotel was quite busy in the evening and we waited up to 1.5 hours for a dinner starter.
The family room was exactly as expected. Breakfast is good as always. You have a good variety of restaurants to have dinner. You can park your car just outside a hotel.

United KingdomMy partner and I were there at the weekend and there was a wedding on the Friday night and a birthday party on the Saturday. The parties themselves did not cause any problem or noise. However, afterwards, people were very loud in front of the hotel waking us up and talking for at least half an hour. Also, I think one piece of toast with a hot breakfast or 2 boiled eggs is not adequate and I was not offered any more. Otherwise the buffet and service was great.
It is in a great location, within walking distance of the town centre and directly on the seafront. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious (a sea-view double), clean and well resourced.

United KingdomNothing really 👍
It felt and looked quite regal 😄 and all the ajoing rooms and lounge areas were lovely with all the furniture placed to perfection. TBH honest I was surprised at how nice it was, I don’t why, I just was!..The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room overlook the sea which was nice and was clean and tidy for our stay. The dining area was very nicely laid out. The hotel was very close to some nice places to visit, eat and drink including the bistrot across the road and we had a nice walk to a lovely pub about a mile up the road. Had a lovely time thank you.

United KingdomBathroom had some broken tiles. More draw space would have been good. Minor things really!
This is a fantastic, historical building that has evidently been recently renovated very well. The original features together with more modern additions blend seamlessly. Our room overlooking the sea was beautiful, clean and well furnished with everything we could want. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff team friendly and efficient.
