Our room was a little dated for the cost. The bathroom for our room is in major need of a refurb. Didn’t ruin the experience

The staff on shift we are true delight. Carolyn on reception & Michele on the bar were very attentive to our needs for our nights stay, they were brilliant. Also very big comfy bed. Great to know for future visits the facility is dog friendly.

The location is perfect if you are visiting the university. The staff and ambience is excellent and there is a very good restaurant there with a good wine list too. Overall a very comfortable place to stay

Arrived at 18:20 and asked how long pool was open to was told 9 but only 7:30 for my 8 year old. Not ideal but fair enough…. Rushed to pool, where no mention of times was made and after only being in for 15 mins at 18:55 we were told quite curtly by a young lady from the fitness centre to leave pool. Was agreed we could stay in the pretty empty pool a little longer as long as we would be gone by 7:30. She then came out closer to 7:30 and rather rudely made her point again. We were on our way out at the time so the leaving the pool (which was completely empty now btw) wasn’t an issue, however the manner in which this young lady spoke to a guest left a lot to be desired. The only reason I stayed at this hotel was for use of the pool for my daughter so despite everything else being good it did leave a sour taste in the mouth.

Comfy beds, nice restaurant & breakfast and all bar one member of the staff were lovely.

The breakfast is a bit of a cop out. £17 and continental breakfast is one of the "hot food" options. Other hotels that's the buffet and actual hot food is served. Very small portions for the price too.

Good hotel, clean and dog friendly.

Travelled around the UK a great deal this year, staying in about 20 places. This one is an upper end hotel but a fridge would be welcome. You can get decent meals on campus just a short walk away, much more cheaply than at the hotel - there is Indian food at the Sultan, noodles, and a Serbian kebab place there that are nearly always open. And much cheaper breakfasts on offer too on campus. The Pizzetta Republic hardly ever closes.

I know this one quite well, since formerly employed at the University next door. Decent price in the off-peak period of the year. I believe it is popular for its health and spa facilities and bar/restaurant, but I have never used them and just need a place to sleep and work. The rooms are generally fine, entering the modern age with adequate power points. A bath rather than just a shower is a nice touch.

The shower was on the dribbly side, rather than being powerful and the control made it guesswork as to the right temperature. It would have been good to have a choice of coffee at breakfast.

Beware the £12 parking/day fee if you have booked with booking.com - or any company other than a direct booking (it’s free if you book direct). Comfortable bed - very lumpy pillows and synthetic duvets.

The bedroom decor is a bit tired but this wouldn’t stop me from staying again.

This is my second stay here and I love it. It is super dog friendly, the large fireplace is always lit and is welcoming. I love the pool and the spa and I think the steam room is one of the hottest I have been in. The staff are friendly, the service is good and the food is tasty and value for money. The breakfast is well done with a good selection of quality food choices.

Rooms don't seem to have any soundproofing. We could hear quite clearly people talking in the adjacent room or flushing their toilet!

The spa is nice and swimming is free for guests. We had food in the bar area which had a limited menu but was tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.
