They don’t serve breakfast so if you have an early start you just have to plan around this.

We had such a pleasant surprise walking into Lake View after a long few days on the Coast to Coast path. A fabulous central location in Grasmere, the house is actually tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the village. We were able to stroll into the village for dinner and then down to the lake side to enjoy the evening sky before enjoying the most comfy bed of our trip. Fully welcoming to Loki our dog made for an even better experience. We loved the badger set on the property although we did not manage a sighting we certainly heard lots of snuffling!

It was all perfect!

The room was perfect, had everything I needed and I loved the claw foot bath! Great location and easy walking distance to the shops. Owner was friendly, bed was comfy. I ended up staying another night!!

In the centre of grasmere the room was bright and exceptionally clean plenty of tea and coffee and lovely gardens with private access to the lake and the hosts were very friendly as were the staff

Breakfast is taken at the Sportsmans cafe very close by, only dislike is it doesn't open till 9 am no good for early risers or those who wish to leave early.

Great location near to everything yet on a quiet lane near the lake, and cafes.

Richard was extremely efficient with our booking. He is also a walker so was able to provide us with some invaluable local knowledge that helped with our walk to Patterdale. The Good Sport had excellent meals too!

Very uncomfortable sofa to sit on after a day of hiking Telly a bit too small for the size of the room and to watch from the bed Poor choice for breakfast , just a cooked breakfast option and porridge, no fruit , no yogurt, no cakes or the pastries , no cereals

Penthouse was great, nice apartment with small kitchenette, bath room was luxurious and roof terrace was a nice bonus. Room was extremely clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and room was nice a warm.

The only down side was the curtains in the bedroom, they let all the light in, so at 6am in the morning we were wide awake

The wooden chairs at the table were uncomfortable to sit at (a little on the small side - width wise). If I could change anything, I would make it possible to have a dimmed light in the bathroom to create a peaceful ambience because the bath is such an enjoyable luxury!

The location was perfect and having access to to the lakeshore was such a wonderful treat! Great attention to detail, such as camping chairs and umbrellas to take to the shore in reception. Suggested walking maps to take away were also useful. The bed and sofa were both very comfortable and the views from each room were stunning! Luxurious bath tub! A very relaxing stay :)

This is only a personal preference, but we would rather breakfast be on the premises ( however we appreciate it was on the booking information that we had to go elswhere close by, it also wouldn't stop us from going again as other than that it's lovely)

The weather wasn't good but nothing anyone can do about that.

Beautiful views , Lovely room , Lovely breakfast first morning , Continental one on New year's day , but it was still lovely. Very Dog Friendly too .
