The door handles to the room are remarkably hard to turn if you have limited strength. The lift was out of action should it be required.

This visit beds not very clean. Bitten by bed bugs. Also rubish under the bed. Would like someone to replenish tea/ coffee in room. Lifts still not working.

The shower in the en suite bathroom was not in a cubicle so I was afraid of using it for fear of the water going everywhere across the bathroom.

The location was really good for getting around Knighton and very near Knighton bus station, so convenient for travelling to other towns and villages. The room and bed were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was good to know that guests could use the kitchen and fridge for self-catering, however I was not made aware of this clearly before arrival.

The shower in the bathroom wasn't in a cubicle, so I didn't use it as I was afraid that the water would go all over the floor.

Although there was no breakfast I was told upon arrival that I could use the kitchen and the dining room for self-catering. This was really useful and gave me time and space in the morning.

Booking was over complicated , tedious. Requested to use keysafe when leaving (not possible , have disabilities- platform unsafe with no handrail ) airbnb style hotel , weird .

The lift was broken which happens however the hotel managed to message us two hours before we arrived about something trivial , they could have let us know at this time about the lift, we were on the top floor and were unable to drag our luggage that far, messaged the hotel from our room as there were NO STAFF at all on the premises but no one replied .

The updated bathroom is very small, but sufficient. My Bookings account was hacked and according to Bookings “we are investigating as this fault might be from the properties end.” I don’t know who is responsible, but I can confirm that all messages from the scammers came through the Bookings site (both e-mails sent from them and through the app) and appeared on the communication feed I had from The Knighton Hotel. The entire communication is as if you are talking with someone at the hotel. I see that it has been going of for months and Bookings still haven’t been able to make their site secure. The Guardian did an article on it in Oct 2023 already.

Lovely old building in good location. Comfortable beds and bedroom. Coffee/Tea in bedroom. Towels. Wardrobe for longer stays.

There was quite a complex checking in system of emails demanding replies and a promise of a seamless process. However in reality the hotel had no staff on duty the night I was there. The door was locked and I had no code for the key boxes so had to phone for a code. The phone was answered by a receptionist apparently in a hotel in Cambridge. I was glad they answered the phone. It seemed a very complicated process and having the key code sent on the email would have been easier.

Very convenient in town centre. Rooms were clean and neat. Looked recently refurbished. Hotel was warm. Kettle with tea and coffee provided. Good shower.

Hotel was fine as you would expect given the value, however the online comfirmation form ( that is important to fill in or "your booking will be cancelled") was impossible to complete I then tried to phone for help and advice and was on hold after choosing option and then hung up on this happened twice, third time of calling someone said not to worry they would sort it !! what was the point of implimenting such a poor system. This booking took some 50 mins or more, Then when I reached the hotel the door was locked and a note on the door said call the same number I did this and again was hung up on. Very poor and unprofessional. Considering this to be a mainly online service if you impliment such a system please ensure that it works. One day company's will realise computors will never be as good as the personal professional touch. As computers cannot think they can only do as programed by people who know little of customer needs and personal service.
