Finding the hotel and traffic on the roundabout. I could see the nearby car dealership clearly but not the hotel at first! Obviously, it was much easier once I had found it the first time, traffic has its ups and downs, it's to be expected and it was a great stay.

Lots of space in the room- not cramped, clean, friendy staff. Christmas decorations in the entrance in the lead up to the holidays, was a lovely touch. Nice art on the wall. Hotel was well placed to get to places we needed to go, and watching rabbits in the field next door was adorable. Visited the Christmas Market in Kings lynn as well as the family birthday party we needed to get to in the area.

I was disappointed that the restaurant was not open and there was no note about this on the booking arrangements and further I received an email suggesting that if I wanted dinner it was advisable to book. All of which suggested that the restaurant was open. One of my main reasons for choosing this hotel was because it had a restaurant and we did not find out until our arrival that the restaurant was closed due to staff shortage. Also I was surprised that the room was not cleaned or tidied each day. I put the hanger on the door and all that happened was a bag of fresh towels, toilet rolls and tea making bits were left outside the door. I did ask about it and was told that was how it was done. There does not seem to be much point in having a door hanger asking for the room to be made up if that is not a service on offer.

The room was fine, clean and well supplied (instructions for the heater would have been useful); and the buffet breakfast was great.

Upon arrival on 27.12.23 we were advised that the restaurant was closed until the New Year, due to lack of room bookings, and only breakfast would be available the following morning. We had no prior warning of this and in-fact had already received an email a day earlier advising that we could prebook a table in the restaurant for our evening meal ?!! We had travelled 2.5 hours and then had to drive out again with my elderly parents to eat lunch and then again to eat dinner in the evening. We had travelled to attend a funeral and this sub-standard service fell very short of our requirements.

I do not like the automated checkin, my fingers do not work on touch screen so it is a real difficulty for me. Staff do help but it is embarrasing. I also deeply object to having to give my card details to get my room key. I never charge anything when I stay at your hotels and I do not see why I should give you my card details which are personal to me.

Self check-in - which isn't a problem, however, went down to the bar area in the morning to purchase some coffee and there was no member of staff around, even though it was after breakfast had finished. Only 1 member of staff in the evening, who seemed a bit miffed we ordered 2 lattes at 10 pm, even though there was a couple of people still in the bar, albeit one of those men was extremely drunk and heckling at myself and my friend. I would have thought said member of staff would have said something but didn't. Housekeeping banging on the door just gone 9 am, even though check out isn't until 11am? Was a pleasant stay however not very welcoming.

The floors are very outdated and they probably were filled with dust because my boyfriend who is allergic, sneezed a lot. We checked the top of the bed, the tables and all the other furniture and everything was clean dust free so I guess it should be from the carpet floor.

The rooms were big and they gave us tea and coffee everyday.

The fresh fruit on offer for breakfast could be better. On our last morning the melon was not fresh and I could not eat it and some of the grapes had passed their best. It might be better to stick to tinned fruit and offer more choice in cereal. Some plates were poorly washed.. There was no where in the bathroom to hang up a bathrobe or a shelf to put our washbag on Many of the tv stations did not work and at first it was very slow in starting and sometimes the signal was poor.

the room and service met our expectation so we were comfortable. We had one meal prepared by Callum and the portions were good. The TV was a good size.
