Heating not working in bathroom, source of hot water in kitchen was to boil a kettle, only hot water readily available in bathroom was the shower, not hot water to sink in bathroom for hand washing.

Great location for heading into Edingurgh, very clean and tidy park, quiet location that was very dog friendly.

We had 4 adults in our group and one of the rooms had a bunk bed (2 beds). The room was rather tight, and the bunk beds not so comfortable but it was a good price and we knew we were sacrificing comfort for a lower cost. It’s not necessarily a negative for the property, as it’s great that they can accommodate 4 adults in a small manufactured home, but it’s not exactly comfortable for the two people in the bunk beds.

You have the whole place to yourself! It’s a nice little lodge with a kitchen, a small fridge, and a nice living room and dining area. It was clean and in a nice location, tucked away from the road, with a creek right behind it that makes for a nice ambience.

There wasn't anything not to like.

Place was absolutely magical! Beautiful scenery, lovely decorations wonderful staff. Couldn't recommend highly enough! Sitting on the decking, watching and listening to the river was so picturesque. So peaceful! Owners were delightful and we all felt very welcome. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Really cosy lodge. Simple, but exactly what you need for a family with 3 kids and a dog. The kids really enjoyed the bunkbed!!! Very quiet area indeed in the middle of a busy area. Worth every penny!

Lovely, friendly, attentive host, very thoughtful (left a bowl of treat out for our dog and gifted us with a Easter egg), and responsive. Beautiful and quiet location with a brook a stone's throw away. Very peaceful place with 3 restaurants nearby (a short walk).

I wasn't keen on the local pub and restaurant rules for kids. The laird and dog allowed for kids till 10 but all the others, for the most part, wouldn't allow children in beyond 7pm. So dinner with the family was difficult. However, the laird and dog had the best food and value anyway! So look no further because you have everything you need.

The property has everything you would want or need as a family. It is completely livable year round. The neighborhood is so peaceful and well connected it feels like a home away from home. You will want for nothing and the extras are a pony, two minature pigs, and a baby sheep. The river is spectacular and the local spots like Laird and Dog are perfect. The 31 bus goes into the city every 30 minutes or so and you don't have to deal with any tourists. The ancient cemetery is moments away and makes you think of the William Wallaces of the world. Living history at its finest.

I can’t think of anything to say to improve this place. If pushed I’d say perhaps the interior of the lodge could be refreshed, however I feel this would detract from the ‘rustic charm’ of the place.

Amazing little lodge with picturesque views and tranquil surroundings. you’d almost never know it was there. Val our host was an absolute star, nothing was too much trouble and she pulled out all the stops to make this a memorable stay. Kevock Vale also has its own library shed which is just lovely. I genuinely couldn’t recommend this place enough.

It would be nice if there was a little gate at the entrance of the deck or little garden to keep the dog in.

The location is lovely. You can enjoy the quietness of the countryside and take the bus into Edinburgh to explore the city. The two pubs down the road had excellent food. The pod is beautifully presented . Extra care is certainly taken with presentation. Chocolates and even some treats for the dog! The host was welcoming and friendly.

Absolutely exceptional in every way. Beautiful location, world's friendliest dog Callum next door who actually gives hugs and lovely Annette, rescued animals, riverside location and David is just the perfect host. You will not find better, so cheap for what we got. We were on business but want to go back to spend some quality time there. 11/10
