The location was fantastic. It’s a lovely clean, friendly hotel has everything you need and the breakfast was freshly cooked not buffet 😊 will definitely go back!

The stairs up to the rooms and it was a bit warm and stuffy. Had to open the window to cool off which made it loud with the street and traffic noise.

It is clean and comfy if not a bit hot in the hotel (rooms have air con and fans tho). 80% of the staff was absolutely lovely. too much musak everywhere ;-)

breakfast was perfect and the location could not be better to explore the shipyard and enjoying the wharfs. The parking was a plus.

Car park is tight, and if full could be hard to exit. Bedroom had cobwebs on light fittings. No hairdryer in room, have to ask reception.

Great location for gun wharf and the dockyard. Large comfy bedroom. Friendly staff. Bar open 24/7. Breakfast cooked to order.

Unfortunately, on this visit I had a room on the lower floor which was adjacent to some sort of fan motor which I could hear running at night. I could also hear extra motors starting up early in the morning (presumably from the kitchen) Also overlooking the side road where the HGV's parked whilst making there deliveries - so even more noise.

The Location is Perfect. The Hotel is very nicely decorated. The Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are good value for money and there is a good choice of items from the buffet and also a very nice cooked breakfast. The bathrooms are very modern. The rooms are very well serviced. The hotel bar is staffed all night.

Keppels Head Hotel is an old hotel so externally one could get the wrong impression. Just remember its a historic building. Internally it is a modern well decorated well kept hotel. Best of all for this hotel is its location ! Opposite is The Spinnaker but more importantly 200 yards away is the entrance to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. This epic museum requires at least 2 days to see it all. Very tiring days ! And to have this hotel so near after a long day is perfect. Added bonus for us was a car park that was Free.

We didn't like the two single beds zipped together. We like to cuddle and spoon in bed and it was too bloody uncomfortable to do that 🙁

We love the situation of The Kepple's Head, the friendly staff and our sea view.

The car park is a few feet away from the hotel through 2 metal gates. The car park can get very full and can be quiet tight with big motors in it.

The location of the Keppels Hotel was very good, central to most things and the bus station and train station were opposite and the ferry terminal was very close. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast which was included with our stay was very nice. The bar is open quite late and is a very relaxing place with comfortable chairs.

The fact that our room wasn't cleaned completely, had to ask for toilet rolls twice and coffee for the room. Also a sponge scourer was left in the Bathroom on the Tuesday. The glasses were only cleaned on the Thursday.

Asked for ice water on leaving day due to a 5hr drive up country and was told no ice, received warm tap water on a hot day like to day, ended salty
