Our stay for sight seeing was very good, nice breakfast and very near the Dock.

    • Deluxe Family Room
    • Stayed 3 nights

For the price we paid, we were expecting a bit better furniture in the room. The towel rail in the very nice bathroom wasnt warm. But the staff were extremely helpful and accommodated our needs when my husband fell ill. An ambuance was called immediately and I was supported kindly. The extra time we needed to stay was very well negotiated.

Too noisy with the train at night even with double glaze window shut as we had sea view room. Car park very tight.

Breakfast plentiful. It has a car park. Location to spinnaker and outlet shops.

A comfortable historic hotel close to Portsmouth Dockyard.

The carpet had a few stains/marks but had been vacuumed - some spot cleaning would have given a better impression. The bathroom was modern and clean but lacked hooks / enough rail space for towels.

Breakfast was very good as was our evening meal in The Captain's Table restaurant at the hotel. There was free parking in a small car park at the side of the hotel and we were allowed to stay until 2pm after checking out, which was helpful. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Quays outlet shopping, and the Spinnaker Tower and it is only a short walk to Old Portsmouth. The train, IOW ferry terminal and buses are opposite the hotel. There was daily room service. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Only grumble is the breakfast. tinned mushrooms, poached egg not great. a bit more variety with pastries and bread could of been better.

Staff were very helpful, polite and more than willing to give advice. a Quaint hotel that is literally across the road from all amenities. Clean and Tidy. Parking was a bonus. A lovely hidden gem.

Room needed a refurb. Marks and scuffs everywhere and door lock flimsy. Room 16 - no view whatsoever. Bathroom was OK but toilet seat not fixed on properly We were only there one night but wouldn't stay longer.

RIght by ferry terminals and also a great shopping centre. Check in was quick and easy. Staff were very efficient. Good restaurant where we had a lovely dinner and breakfast the next day. Parking a few yards away.

The room wasn’t particularly attractive. The view out of the window was very unattractive! Probably why the windows have frosted glass!

Big, friendly and well located. Friendly staff and a restaurant and bar. Stayed twice. Clean and quiet. Private parking. Opposite the Spinnaker. I’d stay again. Good value.

Room was fine but a little stark. thing wrong just could use some decor upgrades. The room was very clean with good bed but pillows need to be replaced. The staff and bar were outstanding, The food was really first class, and the staff was very accommodating.

Car park is tight, and if full could be hard to exit. Bedroom had cobwebs on light fittings. No hairdryer in room, have to ask reception.

Great location for gun wharf and the dockyard. Large comfy bedroom. Friendly staff. Bar open 24/7. Breakfast cooked to order.

A Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and great food, however a very noisy stay on this occasion.

Unfortunately, on this visit I had a room on the lower floor which was adjacent to some sort of fan motor which I could hear running at night. I could also hear extra motors starting up early in the morning (presumably from the kitchen) Also overlooking the side road where the HGV's parked whilst making there deliveries - so even more noise.

The Location is Perfect. The Hotel is very nicely decorated. The Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are good value for money and there is a good choice of items from the buffet and also a very nice cooked breakfast. The bathrooms are very modern. The rooms are very well serviced. The hotel bar is staffed all night.
