Pleasant stay in a well-kept renovated cottage, comfortable and quiet location, close to main roads

Some noise from a busy road behind the cottage, but noise level is manageable/acceptable.

location is fairly convenient to visit Lewes, Brighton and South Downs, although not directly accessible by public transport. A renovated period property in a small hamlet.

The location is not set correctly here at the booking.com.site. The cottage is directly at the church, not across the road.

Lovely cottage, a two-day stay is much too short to enjoy it as much at it deserves it! Hope to stay there once again in future.

A little run down and not 100 per cent clean. No tea coffee or milk available although somebody had commented it was. Luckily we took our own.

    Nothing

Cosy, clean, and comfortable Enclosed garden for the dog Good facilities and ample cooking utensils etc. Fully functioning hob, oven, fridge, and freezer, unlike lots of places that provide the minimum to encourage you to eat out.

Needs some TLC. Not as clean as one would expect. Entrance area littered with old tissues and disposable cutlery which had obviously been there some time. Garden untidy.

The cleanliness of the property was not great. The bathroom has black mould around the whole bottom rim of the shower screen/door and then all over the wall and floor between the sink and shower. There was an empty bottle of hand-wash in the bathroom and nothing else to use. For some reason there was a manky old sock hanging over our bedroom door. The sofas were comfy, but I was sitting in the arm chair and went to pick something up that i had dropped down the side of the chair and there was so much crud and rubbish around the seat cushion. There was even a set of nail clippers (amongst lots of other nasties). The stairs and upstairs carpet need a good clean. It was comfortable enough and good for the dogs but I would not stay for more than one/two nights and not again. It needs a thorough clean and some love.

The front of the property looked lovely and there was ample on road parking. The kitchen had everything we needed, a fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, dishwasher, microwave, oven and a hob. The sofas were comfy and leather which is good that we have dogs. The welcome pack was OK and had some biscuits, tea and coffee and milk. The main bedroom is downstairs which was nice with doors opening to the garden. Upstairs were two twin beds. It had a baby gate which was useful. A lot of people have complained about the road noise, but it didn't overly bother us to be honest. Yes the property is behind a main road but the surroundings in front are lovely. Being winter we didn't sit outside so didn't bother us too much. The garden is dog safe.

Rather near a busy roundabout. Advertised on website as 'Rodmell' - in fact its in Beddingham, approx 9 miles away.

Compact, convenient, comfortable. Good base for exploring & walking in South Downs. Good road access.

Wardrobe in upstairs room was broken and Booking.com directions are incorrect so had to contact owners who were super lovely and gave us the right post code etc.

Cute location. Kids bedroom is the upstairs room and it feels like they are at the “top of the castle” in their words. Whole property has a cottage vibe which we loved. Love the stable door. Cute confined back garden off the main bedroom. Beds were very comfy. Shower was fab and there was a cute welcome basket style of tea, milk, cookies for the family which was a nice touch. Owners were also amazing with contact and helping us when we couldn’t initially find the property.
