We could have done with fewer beds and a sink/running water... However, the separate facilities were within easy walking distance.

Pleasant staff; good quality accommodation and facilities...

The cooker took a bit of working out . We could have done with a toaster. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Everything was great really.

We stayed in an en suite pod whereas previously we've stayed in the basic pods. We found the added extras like having a working kitchen and ensuite really helpful. The view of the bay was amazing.

Only one thing: I prefer linen and towels to be fragrance-free. Unfortunately they had a quite powerful smell that's all too common in some laundry detergents.

We had a lovely stay in the pod which was very comfortable. The welcome was excellent and we'll definitely return.

Easily accessible clothes washing and drying facilities would be a great advantage for the torrential downpours! Worth noting that the shops close at 5pm. Limited eating out access as usually booked out.

Perfect location for the more adventurous traveller to explore the stunning island of Iona.

Very comfortable and a lot of thought had gone into what is needed within the pod. The showers and toilets were beautifully clean and the washing up area also. The staff very helpful and welcoming. Will definitely go again!!

Wonderful pods, always very comfortable and clean. The shower/toilet block is also very nice & not “campsite-y”. Kitchen/sink area is also good & enclosed area, so pleasant even if it is raining or midgey! You can leave bags under shelter if you arrive/depart outwith checkin times which is handy. Will was particularly attentive and helpful, making sure we had everything we may need & giving suggestions for activities. We have stayed a few times now, & will definitely return. This past time we came for our honeymoon with a group of family & friends, spread across multiple pods, & everyone thought they were great. Me & my husband were generously upgraded to an en suite pod which was amazing! Really luxury high end feel, good shower, sink, hob, oven, larger fridge - you name it! Highly recommend staying here.

Sunshine, rainbows and ever-changing sea and sky for our relaxing 2 night getaway on beautiful Iona
    • Leisure trip

We did master the controls of the main heater but it was a bit difficult to programme for us - our suggestion would be to add written simple, step by step details for tech averse guests like us as an addition to the manufacturer's instructions provided in the guest info folder. Others may find this much more simple though :-) We were a bit concerned about our waterproofs dripping onto the internal flooring after we had been out in some rain so hooks on the covered outdoor patio or even hooks in the shower enclosure might be an idea. Oh... and perhaps a couple of microwaveable glass bowls too as we overflowed our breakfast porridge using the cereal bowls...oops but cleaned up!

The location is fantastic - a 10 minute walk from the village/ferry terminal. Our wheeled small case proved a good luggage decision! The views from the pod site out to sea and over to Mull are outstanding and for a panoramic vista the highest point of the island atop Dun I ("dun ee") is climbable from a path in the next door field. Our pod was cosy and fully equipped, the bed was large and very comfortable. Additionally, laundry facilities are provided centrally on site. In that building "pod dwellers" can find items they may not have thought to bring - helpfully left by other residents - for example we were happy to find salt and a jar of pickles to pep up a salad. It was good to be able to leave our unused foodstuffs for others too. We didn't miss not having a TV although we saw an aerial socket so perhaps that is an intended addition in future but not an issue for us as Wifi was excellent and we had our tablets with us. We dined out once during our two night stay at the Argyll Hotel - choosing from a delicious and imaginative menu - and ate in once to enjoy a meal backdropped by the peaceful view over fields to the ever-changing hues of the sea and sky. Aside from the world famous Iona Abbey, The Heritage Centre with its craft shop and tearoom is a mine of information and it was so interesting to learn the history and environmental aspects of the island. (Highly recommend the Blueberry Scones!) The north end of the island is not to be missed, facing out to the island of Staffa (Fingal's Cave), and is approx 10 mins walk through fields rich with wildflowers. The sand on the beaches is so white and the sea so turquoise moving constantly through the rocky channel between Iona and Mull.

Didn't like leaving the pod at night to use the toilet, but it wasn't that bad.

It was about a 20 minute walk from the ferry to the pod location near Dun' I. Pod was clean, snug and dry even during the gusty winds and downpours. The pod had all the tools we needed to make coffee and tea, prepare a meal, cook it and then refrigerate leftovers. It was a bit like camping in that we had to leave our pod to go to another building nearby for toilets and showers. Sinks with running water and dish soap and clothes washer/dryer were in a separate building.

The weather!!! We got soaked on three separate occasions, despite having what we thought was adequate attire. The weather is so changeable that you really need to plan your outings carefully.

I made porridge and bread and marmalade for breakfast. The location was ideal - a 10 minute walk from the Abbey and Tor I was a short walk away. We explored the shops and the nunnery and generally did a bit of walking. We had an evening meal in the St Columba Hotel which showcased the best of Scottish cuisine.

Pods are closer then expected, but minor ‘negative’ as they still offer nice private space.

We had 1 basic pod and 1 luxury pod. Basic was nice but would for sure recommend the Luxury pod options if budget allows it. Stunning pods and location, highly recommended as an experience.

The showers sometimes ran cold if more than one person was showering at once - but otherwise, communal facilities were great.

Immaculate - both the pod and the communal facilities. The owners had given lots of attention to detail, to make living in a small space much easier (e.g. the design of the kitchen facilities, ability to sweep out any sand we brought in from the beach). We loved the way the pods were arranged so you had your own space away from the other pods. Such peace and quiet, too!
