Engagement and service from staff especially the assisted walk to my room and introduction to the hotel welcomed and a nice touch setting the tone for my visit. Breakfast first class with very engaging staff.

Decor dated, nothing else

The staff at they hotel were excellent. The decor in the room was dated but the bed was comfortable and everywhere was very clean. The towels were amazing!!!

The staff were so pleasant and attentive throughout our stay, every team member was excellent. The hotel was was lovely, and both dinner and breakfast were great. The bedroom had everything we needed, we would definitely return.

A wonderful place to stay, with some of the friendliest, most professional staff I’ve encountered. The rooms are so comfortable and the food is to die for. perfect ambience too.

My room was just above the bar so the noise carried upstairs, but it was quiet from 12 onwards (I stayed Friday/Saturday). It did sound like a lively night had my partner been with me we’d have gone down for a night cap. The mattress was pretty firm and not what I’d usually like.

Such a lovely find. The building is old and that itself gives it a little charm, but the food was delicious and staff absolutely brilliant. At the last minute I had to travel alone as my husband was unwell and as a lone female I felt safe, which is something I think is really important.

On the whole, it was comfortable. Rooms are clean and functional altho a little on the tight side if travelling with luggage. The hot water in the sink was very patchy but the electric shower worked fine.

Warm, welcoming restaurant with good menu choices. Husband reckoned he had the best steak he's had in years! Breakfast was also freshly prepared and cooked.

The staff were amazing. Fantastic service in the restaurant and the food was excellent. When we arrived we were upgraded to a family room because the room we had booked was over the bar and Scotland was playing rugby and they were concerned that it would be too noisy. Definitely will be back.

The atmosphere and decor of the downstairs bar and dining area. Well staffed, Excellent evening meal and breakfast.

It was all good, no complaints

Breakfast was very well cooked, made with good quality local ingredients. Local butchers' meats, fresh orange juice, nice choice of some fresh fruit well presented. The room had lovely Scottish themed touches such as throws and tartan wool cusions. Bed was lovely and comfortable.

The room was very small. We've been told before that if you book with booking.com you get the worst rooms and sadly in this case it was true. Room for us was ok but some people would not be happy with this.

The staff were lovely. The bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast was very good as was our evening meal.
