Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo fridge in room which would have helped (I believe they are available in the more premium rooms so a shame they aren't standard issue across all rooms) And window closure was broken and worrying. Fan provided which was great on hot day.
Warm welcome, plenty of car spaces, room was quiet. Pool facilities great, comfy bed, clean room and tidy. Can't rate breakfast as although it was included, unfortunately not accessible for us as we had child with nervous system disability so a buffet breakfast was too much to consider sadly. Lovely grounds and a great location.

My colleague and I stay here regularly with work. We are always greeted with a smile and it's great to have a quick catch up with Joe, Emily, Amber, Ellie, Freddy and Dominic. These are the staff we see and deal with most often and we really appreciate all they do to make our stays pleasant.

United KingdomAlthough the room was clean, it appears that all rooms are dog friendly. As someone who is allergic to animals, this was not ideal, and after a 2 night stay, I unfortunately left with puffy eyes and a wheezy chest. I would suggest having some rooms allocated that never have animals in to avoid this in future, even the best cleaning will never irradiate all signs of animal hair or dander.
Main building was beautiful and facilities were good too.

United KingdomCould have done with more parking, we got parke but difficult at first. The car parking is quite small.
Rooms were new, well fitted out and comfortable. Location of the house is lovely, stunning when you initially arrive. The bar and dining room were very nice, with the old detail and ceilings.

United KingdomThe rooms were nice, but little things let them down. The extractor fan in the bathroom was so built up with dust it was falling out and there was paint coming away from the doors. Also, we thought it was a shame that the larger function room wasn’t in keeping with the main house. To go from the grandure of the main building to polyurethane ceiling tiles was disappointing. Final thing, we felt £14 each for a buffet breakfast and cheap coffee was a bit steep. If it wasn’t out in the sticks you’d be better off finding a local cafe.
Hell of setting and the facilities made available were great. The rooms had everything you needed and nothing was too much trouble.

United KingdomWe had to move rooms straight away as stains on bedsheets, rooms are very tired, old tvs (not even smart tv), stains on sheets and towels (mostly make up from previous guests, I don't wear it), cracked glass on table, lots of weddings here (busy/noisy), guests playing loud music in room at midnight, you can hear conversations in next room also, room not worth price, you're just paying for the location/grounds and that's it, rooms need a lot of attention, overpriced! Staff okay overall but at breakfast very young, gossiping and staring because just 2 of us sat at a big table (immature schoolkids not giving the best impression for hotel).⁸

United KingdomIt was a short walk from the room to the house for meals and the bar. The weather was fine on our visit but I think you would get wet if it was raining. I wouldn't like this walk if it was stormy, heavy rain.
A lovely old house with chalet style rooms built in the grounds. Good parking for our motorcycles and lovely grounds to walk around. Meals served in the old house, good to look around with some interesting features, and the food was good. Friendly staff in the bar, where we had our evening meal. Would recommend and would stay again.

United KingdomThe bartender was nice but the price of drinks were on the high side of things. £27 for a a double whiskey on the rocks and rum and coke is a bit much.
The room was well maintained and clean. We had dinner and lunch in the main hall and the food came promptly. Not spicy enough for my tastes, but generally good. The meeting facilities were nicely equipped and internet speeds were fast.
