To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaThe rooms are very noisy and can hear the other guests quite easily. The guests when we were there were very noisy and didn't care about others very early in the morning. Had to ask them to respect others as they were slamming doors and talking very loudly in their own language.
Nice place, we only stayed 1 night. We got parking out the back, which was great, first in first served situation. Rooms were pretty good no problems.

United KingdomOur bathroom light was difficult to turn on and off. One bedside light didn't work. There was no cold water available from the bathroom tap though when I queried this I was given two bottles of water. The room was quite clean but very dated.
The hotel Is conveniently situated on a bus route and within easy walking distance to Addenbrookes, the station and city centre. Despite being at the front on the ground floor it wasn't too noisy and we slept well.

United KingdomThe decor is looking a little tired - scuffs on the skirting board and wall paper, for example - but nothing that would stop me from booking here again if we return to Cambridge.
Excellent location - very close to our concert venue of Cambridge Junction, with plenty of choice when we wanted a restaurant (Savour closed as it was a Tuesday evening) (and good bus services to get into the city centre if you don't want to walk). Spotlessly clean and comfortable - loved the mattress! Tea and coffee making provided in the rooms, as were toiletries. Friendly staff, who were kind enough to upgrade us from a twin to two double rooms - my daughter was delighted!
