Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe could not check into the room until after 3 p.m. (15:00 hours), which was rather inconvenient. Our luggage was stored for us, which was a help, but we had to wander around for several hours to use up the intervening time. We were tired after travelling, so this was not good. No lactose-free milk, despite mentioning this as a dietary requirement three months previously, when the reservation / booking was made. The situation was rectified by a member of staff quickly going to a sister hotel nearby and returning with what the chef there said was lactose-free milk. Not entirely true, since soya, coconut and almond substitutes all contain elements of lactose, but at least the effort was made. Breakfast was rather frenetic. Despite the period for breakfast being generous (7 to 11 a.m. at weekends, when we stayed), of course guests are not going to drift in and out at conveniently regular intervals. They always decide to arrive simultaneously, usually in the 30 minutes after 9 a.m. In this case, the sudden influx caused consternation for the staff, who were a little overwhelmed by everything disappearing at once and several guests all demanding different things at the same time. At one point, a member of staff was reduced to clearing plates from the tables while guests were still seated there (not a bad thing in itself, provided the guests have finished eating), simply to obtain more plates because the stack of fresh plates for the hot food (for example) was repeatedly being exhausted. Our room cards failed to call the elevator (a necessary dual function) on more than one occasion (and we were only staying one night in the hotel), so we had to get the cards re-checked or re-logged at reception. It is not a good idea to have the room cards activating other services or facilities as well. In my experience, the room cards are frequently barely able to cope with accessing one’s bedroom or opening the door, never mind anything else.
Location very close to the cruise terminal from which we were departing. Room slightly larger than previous IBIS Hotels where we have stayed. Generally, rooms in IBIS hotels are quite small. Small bathroom, with half-bath and shower, but the shower was good, with plenty of hot water and powerful (most hotel showers are terribly weak and feeble). Breakfast was adequate, with a reasonable selection of hot and cold food. The organisation of it was somewhat chaotic, though (see below).

United KingdomRoom was very basic. Especially for £153 for 1 night. No iron in room, tho it was probably available on request. Room was also a bit dated with woodchip walls. Would suggest sockets at bedside for phone charging & something more hygienic than a shower curtain
