Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere are only a dozen or so parking spaces on the side, 2 on the front along with 3 charging spaces, all marked “ Hotel “ I parked in a space opposite the charging spaces. Checking in, the chap asked me where I parked, ah he said, thats not one of our spaces, all ours are full, you’ll need to move. Had I left it where it was more than 30mins I would have got a £100 fine. The hotel has overspill spaces in B&Q’s car park but you must register your car in the Ibis reception - this was explained by another guest not the Ibis receptionist who checked me in.
Location is super for those using the ferries and for shopping. The rooms are basic but acceptable with a soft bed and nice linen. They hotel has one issue that caused me to cancel a planned future booking, read negative comment below

United KingdomThere was no means of making tea or coffee. We'd booked a double room but were allocated a triple which meant that we had a bunk bed above our double bed...a bit claustrophobic. There was little space to put anything down or unpack your bag onto. It's fine for a one night stay, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a convenient location for our purposes. There was ample parking and the room was an attractive price.

United KingdomNot much of a carpark front of the hotel. The overflow is far especially because it rained. The corridor was busy and noisy at night every door shut you can hear.
The location was good.

United KingdomThe room was a little hot at night and the aircon in the room didn't bring down the temperature.
The hotel was well located, within a reasonable walking distance of the shoreline and handy for the railway link into Portsmouth harbour.

United KingdomOur room was extremely warm, unable to open the window any more than 2 inches. No tea & coffee making in the room, its not until its not there you realise how nice it is to have. Breakfast wasn't appealing at all and the location is very built up near a main road but for 1 night it was more than sufficient
Very friendly staff, dog friendly, clean and free parking...albeit in a different place to the hotel.

MaltaThe room is very small. We have a toddler and stayed there for 10 days, so a bit more storage was required. It is a great hotel for anyone who is just passing through or light travellers.
The staff were extremely helpful in every aspect, especially TINA who was super efficient and always ready to answer any questions. The location of the hotel is superb. Close to both the city centre and to the harbour.

Hong KongThe shower room door designed to have gaps at top and bottom allowing water splashed out. The floor become wet. Basin sink also slightly leak. No hair dryer. But we still believe the hotel and room is basically satfisfactory.
The room is comfortable and clean. With bunk bed, it could hold 3 pax. Overall setting reflects to be a budget hotel. All staff team are helpful and nice. Free carpark. The canteen have microwave oven. Tesco Extra superstore just 1 minutes walk from the premises. As per the staff advice, we did buy frozen meal from Tesco as our dinner in the canteen (we arrive after 21:00). KFC, Subway just across the street.
