Convenient and reasonably priced stay for our final night in Scotland.

If on a budget, I wouldn’t recommend this as a base place to stay while visiting Edinburgh as the cost of the tram rides would take up any savings.

The room is very compact but well laid out and clean. A good place to stay before flying out from Edinburgh airport the following morning. Especially for the reasonable price. It was easily accessed by tram from downtown Edinburgh and to the airport. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the tram stop.

The room is tiny, so wouldn’t recommend for long stays or with person who you dont know very well as toilet isn’t very private and there is no separate bathroom, just shower in the room, so my partner was a bit struggling to take a shower when our 8year old daughter was in a room, you literally go out from the shower to a room, sink is also in the room. Not much space for clothes and no place to hang wet towels after showering.

When I choose the property I knew it was located far from the city, which I dont mind, as the transport links (Tram) it is just by hotel, £5 daily ticket for trams and busses or £10.50 for daily family ticket. The property was well maintained and continental breakfast was included in a price. Actually very nice hotel with comfy beds, great for price comparing to other hotels. The staff was friendly and rooms were clean.

Lots of rubbish in the corridor as we arrived at 3.30 - 30 mins after checking in time on our email. I would have thought all the tidying up would have been completed way before our arrival? Glass bottles and smashed glasses on the grass outside, potentially dangerous to animals/ children arriving at the front of the hotel. None of that was cleaned up in the two days of our stay. Staff chatting at front desk could have easily cleaned this up. Some one had been sick in the bin on our arrival in the men’s toilets. We told reception about that straight away.

The toilet and shower room door should have been fully closed as the space in the door is a bit throwing us off.

The room is clean and a bit spacious. The staff are accomodating and we loved the breakfast as they served freshly baked croissant and pan eu chocolat

The room looked like a hospital bedroom with mdf furniture and greeny-grey colours; for the price, it was quite unappealing. The breakfast was better across the road as well.

The location and staff were great, I used to live in Edinburgh, so I am not exactly a tourist: I know how to get around the city; for my money, this hotel was very convenient, next to a tram stop and across a supermarket/ shopping center for cafés and take away snacks; it gave me a chance to be with local people rather than hordes of tourists.

We booked a specific time for breakfast. There were no sausages or bacon and very little else cooked for over half an hour! We were told it was because of a rush. BUT there were specific time slots so they must have known how many were coming at that time. Was VERY DISAPPOINTED with the service at breakfast on our first morning and didn’t book the next day. Not worth nearly £12 each for NO COOKED food and nobody around to speak to as to why.

The location was fantastic. Also loved the decor. The view and atmosphere in the bar was lovely and the lifts worked well 😀
