The bin hadn’t been emptied following the previous guests departure, and the vegan sausages came covered in bits of egg so I couldn’t eat them. Other than these two easily resolved issues, I was very happy.

The staff are exceptional, I couldn’t ask for better. By far the most disability-aware of any hotel I’ve stayed in. The room was comfortable and breakfast was good, though more vegan awareness would improve things.

The property and staff were excellent, but some of the hotel areas were out of bounds due to multiple private functions. However the staff did make us aware of this and advised on alternatives.

Maybe I’m old school but why is there no kettle or mini fridge in the rooms anymore?! Also, the curtains are really cheap and could be much longer and thicker - struggle to get a lie in due to all the light coming through.

The bar and restaurant areas were quite cold and not sure if there was a heating issue. Also asked about EV charging as I now have an electric car but staff unable to let me know when this might be installed.

One bedside lamp and plug socket didn't work. We found it unusual that there was only one bedside table in this particular room but sockets on both sides would've been more comfortable

Staff were friendly, location was beautiful especially for walks and the buffet style breakfast was amazing! We'll definitely come back for this

Room was not made up despite the fact that we left it at 11.30 am. Reception staff were unhelpful when checking in 4 of our party late at night. They were kept waiting for over 35 minutes

Breakfast was excellent. Room was small and bed was a small double which we had not expected.

The bar area was very cold. The rooms bedroom and bathroom were very tired, beds very small.

it was cold in the library where the wedding was, it was cold in the bar where 100 people waited 2 hours whilst photos taken and then later it was freezing in there it was impersonal and soulless in the bar with no effort to make it appealing, but then why would you bother as you have the business anyway. the reception lady was surly and rude it was a nuisance that we had to leave our luggage in reception till 3 pm so had to be ready for the wedding at 1 and leave everything till later. The breakfast people just sat us anywhere and there was a dedicated space for the wedding party but no one was shown it till we had all eaten

the food was lovely, the reception room was grand. loved the flowers that then turned into table decorations. the MC was a great chap very informative.

The hotel is mainly for large groups - business or family gatherings. This was a bit off putting in the restaurant. But it just meant that we sat longer and enjoyed the food and the other guests.

The location was stunning. Easy access to Guildford and Leatherhead. Would love to come back in summer and enjoy the walks around the area.

It is not really clear from the website what you are getting. Do be aware that if you are not staying in the Castle you are in very modern rooms and hotel more for conferences and business. I didn't feel it was for a lovely family get together and we were not told the. "castle" would be out of bounds due to a wedding. So we were not allowed there and for me it meant we stayed in a modern, value for money hotel. The evening restaurant is a buffet.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent.
