Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere were only 2 wine glasses. Could have done with glasses for prosecco. A bigger TV would be good, it was difficult to see or hear it, we ended up putting it on the table. Parking outside was a bit of nightmare. Even though we had our own parking, when we came back, people where parking up to pop in the chip shop or the patisserie.
The location was perfect. Really cosy cottage, lovely views.

United KingdomThe instructions for key collection were very clear and it was a simple process to find keys and get into property. One of the smoothest check-ins I've had! The kitchen was amazing- we loved cooking dinner together in the cottage. Location was 5 mins walk from stunning Ballaculish lookout spot on the Loch and just moments from incredible Glencoe vistors centre - highly recommend. Coop groceries just across the street. Seriously couldnt have made this stay any better!! Amazing 10/10!

PortugalWe arrived too early, our fault, and it was stressful to check in, after which no one showed up and the house was simply open. During the entire stay, the hosts didn't have the slightest concern about whether everything was going well or whether there would be any problems. We can't watch television for a single day. Access to the mobile network is practically impossible in the area.
Very pleasant accommodation, kitchen equipped with everything you could want. Very pleasant interior decoration.

United States of AmericaHonestly, we can't think of anything we did not like about Holly Cottage. In over a month traveling through Scotland, this was our favorite lodging. We would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend to others.
We loved the Holly Cottage! The entire space was very welcoming. The bed and bedding were comfortable, the living room was cozy after a long day out, and the kitchen was well-outfitted. The hosts did an excellent job on decor (so many small details to notice!) and provided for all our needs. We particularly appreciated the washing machine and drying rack, since we spent a lot of time hiking in wet conditions. The location was ideal for us - quiet but close to a market and the main road. We enjoyed walking through the town. As a bonus, there is a wonderful bakery steps from the front door.

United States of AmericaWe were instructed not to alter the heat, but we found it cool for our preferences. Also there was a clothes washer but no dryer and that wasn’t helpful when we had lots of rain during our stay; so line drying wasn’t a possibility.
Well supplied kitchen. Comfortable bed.

Perfect location opposite very good chip and pizza shop and very near to supermarket plus only 5 minutes drive from Glencoe mountains and 25 from Ben Nevis. Couldn't have hoped for better.

United Kingdoma minor issue, but the electric heaters wouldn’t turn off even when off at the wall.. so it was cosy!
Very clean and comfortable (bed was very cosy after a long day, but quite small for a couple). The cottage is homely too, well equipped and very easy to figure out how everything works. really enjoyed reading a few of the books about Glencoe too

PolandNothing!
The cottage is very comfortable, warm, plenty of space with a separate kitchen which had all amenities we could think of. The whole house is squeaky clean and everything works. A huge positive bonus for us was the decor, with interesting old photographs, paintings and other artistic elements. The CO-OP is 2 mins walk, pub across the street and restaurant behind corner. The fabulous Glencoe Valley is 5 mins drive away, making this cottage a great base for exploration. We would have stayed longer, had it had been possible. Would definitely recommend and come back myself.
