Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDecor in corridors very tired and some room doors showing signs of previous damage. Bedroom window could be opened but extent of opening was not adjustable and window opened too far for our comfort.
Excellent communication with check in staff prior to arrival. Room very clean. Pleasant view from our room which was to the front of the hotel.

Estoniai did not find any information about the sauna and jackuzzi being not suitable for kids before we used the spa. one of the reasons to choose this hotel with kids was the swimming pool but then we found out that no kids are allowed to jackuzzi and sauna (sauna was not working actually anyway) and I could not go there with my one year old as she wanted to get in the hottub so we had to stay in the room and use the bathtub in the room but the bigger kid got to go swimming in the swimming pool at least. but this infotmation should be more advertised 🙂
nice clean hotel, bed was comfy, room was nice, had a kettel in the room and also usb ports next to bed so we did not actually need our adapter at all, bed was nice and big and bathtub was great for kids. brekkie was good - loved the black pudding and haggis.

United StatesBreakfast and coffee isn’t served until 6:30. The breakfast was the same for six days. No elevators to the upper level from the street. We had to haul our luggage up 3 flights of stairs just to get to the lobby, if you take the bus there.
We enjoyed the bar area after a long day of being a tourist.

United KingdomBreakfast was poor the “hot food” was cold and tasted days old as the hash browns was so hard and dry the beans and eggs were cold. The bacon was over done the only good part about the breakfast was the coffee and toast.
Location was great and staff were really lovely and accommodating. Dinner was very lovely especially the fish and chips.

United KingdomOnly minor things, not even issues. The bath seems a bit dated, and the toilet had some mouldy stains inside. On our return to the room after breakfast we had a note left on the bed stating we left the "do not disturb" sign outside - which we did not - so the beds were not made up. Yet the bins were changed and the coffee, etc replenished so we did not really understand the point of the card but did not bother us anyway. At dinner one dish was not available on both nights we ate there and never had any pre-warning about it only when ordered. Some drinks we ordered arrived with stained glasses provided.
Informative, quick response from reservation about special requests. Very easy and smooth check-in and check-out, welcoming reception staff. Very comfy beds and a fairly quiet room. Plenty small biscuits, chocolate, mineral water, coffee, etc, a lovely touch! Great quality toiletries. Lovely decoration and cakes for partner's birthday, thank you again! The breakfast staff is very pleasant and helpful, same at dinner service, everyone made us feel special. Wide selection of both continental and cooked items on the breakfast buffet, well organised and topped up, even at busy times. Tasty veggie curry and chutney at dinner (but overcooked rice and stale chips) Overall a great experience, thanks for all again so much!

United StatesWe chose this hotel for our last night in Scotland before we headed out to the airport because it was conveniently located right by the Airport Link bus, so it was meant to be a safe and comfortable place to sleep--we weren't concerned about proximity to sights and things like that. The room was clean and comfortable, just what we needed, and the staff very accommodating. We unexpectedly had to stay an extra night because our flight home got cancelled, and the staff were able to keep us in our same room, which was a plus. The in-house restaurant has a pretty extensive menu, which is nice because most shops and restaurants are about a 15-20 minute walk away. All in all, a pleasant and comfortable stay.

United KingdomThe price was considerable more that i had wanted to pay but as the city insist in having both the Fringe and the Tattoo on at the same time the demand for hotel rooms is very high and the hotel is responding to that demand as are all the others
Stayed bed only for 2 nights to see the Tattoo. The rooms and facilities met the high standards expected of the Holiday Inn brand an it was adjacent to the zoo and a short £2.00 bus ride to the city centre/castle etc
