Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDidn't have the best beds. But everything else was great.
Fantastic wee house to rent out for the whole family. I brought my family here as a part of their first visit to Scotland, and they loved it. Walking distance from main street in Aviemore. What's most attractive about this place is the value for money. Very affordable and top quality accommodation. Claire responded quickly to messages and was great. Would come again.

United KingdomMaybe would have been good if there was a few store cupboard items like salt, pepper, sugar etc but understand why this wouldn’t be left.
The size, facilities and toys for my grandson. Very clean, it had everything you would need and the temperature was perfect.

United KingdomThe property was amazing, so beautiful. Had everything you need for travelling with children from plates to bed time stories.Property was beautiful, it was so cosy we didnt want to leave. Our kids had a great time, there was toys and stories to read, also a swing in the garden. We were only here for a short stay but wish we booked for longer. Everything we thought about something we should have brought we would find it in one of the drawers, there was nothing we were missing or had to go buy. The house was warm which helped with the cold weather outside and so spacious for having 3 young kids. Very close to the shops, took us no time to walk and even faster drive down to them. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, host was lovely too and very easy to contact. Great service. We will hopefully be coming back next year!

United KingdomThere was absolutely nothing we didn't like. Kinveachy is just perfect.
The host contacted me the day before we left home to let us know how to get the keys. Claire is very helpful and kept in touch now and again to make sure everything was ok. Kinveachy is a lovely property. It is in a quiet area, despite being close enough to town to walk in. Spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped for couples or families alike. We would not hesitate to book again if we are in the area.

United KingdomMind your heads in some parts of the property, the roofs slope in some parts of upstairs and it's easy to bang your head if not careful.
Fantastic property with a host who stayed in touch and was exceptionally helpful. Even contacted us early to let us know if was ready earlier than expected so we could arrive early. Very convenient parking and located on a nice quiet cul de sac a short walk to Aviemore (takes about 15 minutes) Everything you need in a kitchen, and great washing facilities. Comfy beds and great cleanliness throughout. Definitely one of the best accommodations of our stay in Scotland

United KingdomThe house was ideal. Loved that it’s in a quiet street so close to the centre of Aviemore (took us about 15 min to walk to the main restaurants/shops/cafes) Very child friendly. The fact that Claire provided a high chair and travel cot on request made packing and travelling so much easier. Our toddler loved the books up in the twin room and the toy box in the living room. (This is kept behind the couch out the way, it wouldn’t bother people who weren’t staying with kids) The carpet felt new and nice to walk on which made it feel homely :) Wee touches like fancy soaps made the bathrooms feel like a fancy hotel. The host Claire made us feel welcome before we even got there, messaging us with useful information and tips. We felt that if we needed anything during our stay she’d be happy to help. Lots of space. Would definitely stay here again with friends or family. We we were planning on using one of the spare rooms for storing cases etc in, but we didn’t have to as there’s loads of storage space throughout the house.

United KingdomThe house was perfect for our needs. With two adults and four children, we primarily needed private space, bathrooms and good kitchen facilities. Our host provided excellent pre-visit information. The house was located on the outskirts of Aviemore in a quiet cul-de-sac, so great for commuting to nearby activities and attractions.
