Bed was unmade on arrival (another guest had used more than 1 bed we suspect). But this was quickly solved by staff and bed was made. Bed was a little lumpy, but nothing terrible and could do with a second pillow.

Hostel is in a great location, the rooms are simple but provide all the necessities. The cost was affordable and good value for money. Staff were helpful and polite.

The key for the door wasn't working, and a master needed to open it. Grand for my short stay, but I wouldn't like it on an extended stay, having to ask to be let in my room each time. The room it's self would benefit from some paint and attention to detail, it's doesn't need to look so run down, it's a decent room.

The location is excellent. Short walk to the train. The hostel looks modern downstairs. The staff are friendly. The room I was in was very spacious.

The room was cold and humid. Only one night lamp that it was no working. There was no hangers in the bathroom (what to do with the towels?) and there was no a glass or a container for the toothbrush. Bath towels are not included in the price.

The place has potential and the location is central, near to train station and old town. Bed is good.

The internet (Wifi) was not connectable to the phone, throughout my stay. Despite staff helping me with the connection, it did not function. I think the problem was in house rather than with my Samsung phone. The room had no kettle. So I visited the kitchen, and the kitchen was unhygienic. Surfaces dirty, with no clean cloths to wipe down. One sink (there were 2) was out of service. taps were leaking. One bin was encrusted with dirt on the lid. the plastic drainer was so caked with black gunge that I cleaned it before continuing to make my teas. Very disappointing.

I could not connect to the wifi. Seemed to be an issue as it kept saying not internet available. Storage box is right on the bed on top of your feet. This makes it tough to get onto and out of the bed as the storage box takes up some space. Only good if you are brining a backpack!

Great location right in the heart of the city centre, and only a 10 min walk from Lime Street Station if you are flying into Manchester Airport. Good value for money. Clean room and solid storage box to store your backpack.

mould all over in bathroom due to lack of extractor fan. We were on the ground floor which meant that our windows looked out onto a gulley where people have thrown bags of poo right outside where the window opens. Gulley drain right outside bathroom window opening blocked and smelly.

Apart from the kitchen there were no communal lounge/tv games area for the family. The kitchen was missing a lot of items. We had tea out of a bowl. Thin walls and ceilings, could hear a lot, so those getting in late and using the toilet throughout the night was noise that filtered through Few more hangers would have been nice if we were there for longer

Room was way too hot despite turning the radiator down it still remained on, literally to the point we were both sweating just sitting there. No towels which was a pain but besides this, don’t even get given a shower mat to stop slips if you do bring your own towel and use the shower. The door stop should have a warning tape or something over it as it’s so far into the room I stubbed my toe on it 3 times!!!

There was a few bits of mold on the bathroom roof but not enough to be a problem :) There isn't any wardrobe's but for a two night stay it was fine

the bottom bunk was much too low, so I struggled getting in and out of it. the lockers were on the wall at the far side of the bed, so were very awkward to access. there was no seperate toilet from the shower room, for 6 people this could have been awkward. not much dining area. had more than a few people wanted to eat at the same time, this would have been difficult

The kitchen was awful. I didn't want to cook or eat anything in there. Even the sponges for washing up were filthy. I sent a picture of them to the staff, which I've enclosed below. The fridge was a mess. There were missing shelves. It just looked like a health hazard overall. I didn't want to use the washing machine and tumble dryer when I saw that mop heads had been washed in them. I went off-site to a launderette. The staff seemed a little disengaged and the whole place looked like it could do with some TLC.

The room was nice. I'm glad there was a radiator for extra heating in my room. The shower room was very spacious, but there were no tissues. I had to ask for extra toilet roll at the reception desk. There were nice toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable so I slept well. The wifi was OK.
