Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAn oasis of calm just a short walk from the City Centre, situated in a very nice area near the castle. Lovely room, great staff and a good breakfast too. Will definitely stay again when next in Nottingham.

United KingdomThere was some confusion going on in terms of arrangements . I asked my reception to ask my taxi to wait but this was not made clear to him so he left . My breakfast did not arrive which I was quite upset about & reception said they had bought it up but as I was in the room I don’t understand why they did not get it to me . The telephone by the bed was not working so maybe this is why . It was a detail but it did spoil my day as I had to spend a full day at the river watching rowing and I really wanted a nice breakfast . My picnic that I had ordered 5 times also did not arrive ( asked for when booking ) ( asked when I arrived ) ( asked before turning in ) When I said I was leaving to the rowing - Reception did not tell me where the picnic was & so I had to leave without it . This was very different to last year when I got the picnic with a lot of attention from reception . The manager who was on duty was very charming & efficient and got my supper up to my room & replaced the melted ice cream . The manager also helped me when my car broke down on day one and was really charming about rebooking me & very thoughtful as I was upset . The team manager and reception were super helpful when I left my suitcase at the hotel ( my son had won the silver medal at British University Rowing Championship ) so we went straight home / They are posting it to me . Overall 10 / 10 ( not counting failure to deliver breakfast ) & I will be back Thank you all very much for a great stay .
I like the view from the windows which was utterly magical in the may sunshine. It was like a painting that we could look at for ever and it definitely was uplifting . The beds are very comfortable & I like the furnishings . The food was delicious even when the restaurant was closed on a Sunday which is rare

United Kingdom1. A little on the pricey side 2. Parking charge. Hadn't been told about this and it didn't appear anywhere on the booking. Felt that was disingenuous. Just include it in the price or be more transparent? 3. The shower fan didn't go off even when the light was turned off. So it was on all the time and we had to take the key card out of the slot to shut everything off for the night. I had to read using my phone light. Bit annoying.
Great location, quiet - that's the best thing that I always want. Very comfortable room, bed, bathroom exceptionally good and well laid out. Beautiful view. Able to open a window - lovely. Professional and polite staff. Fabulous location.

United KingdomWe stayed in a suite, and room details said there should have been robes. These would’ve been welcomed for a chilled out evening, but weren’t in the room. Wasn’t something we wanted to bother the front staff about
Small enough to offer a personal service. Rooms are well equipped. Excellent quality toiletries :)

Lovely location close to city centre. Spotlessly clean. Best bed I’ve ever slept in. The late check is good and if your room is ready you can check in early
