Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GuernseyAs per descriptions on TripAdvisor 'walking distance' is a broad description until you try doing it in the rain with heavy suitcases and narrow pavements. The sign to the hotel from the airport is obscured by a pillar so I initially started going to the other Hilton hotel. The staff were pleasant but seemed to lack training in the bar area, for example carrying drinking glasses with their fingers on the inside of the glass. Likewise having to ask for cutlery when served with food. Everything about the experience smacked of ownership by a Private Equity company; minimal provision at maximum price. £300 for an airport hotel room booked well in advance was poor value. No water in the room, no fridge and no ice in the corridor which is standard practice in American Hilton Hotels (at least it used to be). The other symptom of PE ownership is the lack of lavatory brushes; a minor point you may think. But it gives the impression that the customer cannot be trusted to steal a second-hand sanitary item having paid hundreds for the accommodation. The menu was average, giving the impression that the choice of food was based on what could be microwaved. Some of the food requested turned out to be unavailable but the bill was not adjusted accordingly. I had a disturbed night's sleep because the bathroom extractor fan kept making irregular whirring noises. I initially thought there was drilling work in another room above so didn't ask to change room. I later realised that it must be the fan itself making the noise. I reported it in the morning.
The room itself was clean and fresh. The breakfast was decent. The external noise from aero planes was muffled.

United KingdomBreakfast could have been better. We would have liked a room with 3 single beds
beds were comfy, we asked for an extra duvet which was found for us. Bar was nice and being close to the airport. It was quieter than we expected being so close to the airport.

FranceThere was a noise in the room that was coming in regular interval and that was very annoying especially when we wanted to sleep.
The staff was very nice and patient. The food was also good.

United StatesThere was no shuttle to the airport. They said "It's only a 5 min walk." But older people have a problem walking that far, dragging heavy bags. The breakfast wasn't very good. We noticed a couple who got up and left their food sitting on the table. When we got our food, we learned why. The eggs were made from powdered eggs and were tasteless. The sausage was funny tasting... We ended up not eating the food.
Room was large enough. Bathroom was nice and big.

United StatesFood.
Had dinner there. It was mediocre at best. The gin and tonics were great. Location was great. We simply walked there to check in after a long flight from US. Walked backed to the airport in the morning for our early flight to Kirkwall. Easy and convenient.

Arrived late and checked out early for my flight so never had opportunity to enjoy facilities. But it is only 5 minutes walk from Airport which is ideal for very early check in. L

PortugalThe food was terrible - my daughter had the pasta dish and the pasta was uncooked. Because the location is great for the airport I feel that the hotel does not care if the food is terrible. This is the second time I have stayed and the food was not of a good standard such that when I fly into Edinburgh again I am going to try one of the other locations to stay at.
This hotel is ideally located beside the airport so it is easy to get a room to catch an early morning flight or to stay overnight if your flight is at night before travelling further.

United Kingdomvery little not to like... its an airport hotel.. ... ideal location
Staff very helpful The breakfast choices were fabulous... I have a daughter with a dairy intolerance and a granddaughter who is gluten free so it was great to see that the hotel would cater for any of those problems. In close proximity to the airport... flat walking distance .. but no aircraft noise which was great! And the hotel was very quiet in the corridors and my room. Disappointed not to have Sky Sports on tv to follow the French Open Tennis. Room 210... the shower was very clean but the non slip base looked grubby and there was black mould UNDER the clear sealant in the corner and under the glass shower screen
