We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

BelgiumMy wife and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of June, and both agreed that this is one of the best hotels in which we have stayed. The rooms are immaculate, well looked after and inviting. The service is flawless, with staff willing to help however they can, and the food... well... The food is top. My wife and I work and live in Europe and often find British food to be a little, how shall I say, 'underwhelming' perhaps. Not here. It was first class. Good quality home cooking, presented in a beautiful but not overly ostentatious manner. It was packed full of flavour and left us very impressed. For instance, on arrival I had the pie of the day, which was with leek and chicken. Stunning. Easily the best pie I have had. Breakfasts were equally impressive, with a wide variety, perfectly cooked and wonderful service. The Inn itself is also beautiful in a lovely setting. It feels as historic as it is (note Guido 'Guy' Fawkes stayed there in 1604), but without feeling at all stuffy. It has been preserved beautifully and looked after throughout. All in all a dream place to stay. Thoroughly recommended.

United KingdomPillows were awful (sorry!), please get plumper & firmer ones. Loo was a very bad flusher. And I could hear a kitchen fan (or similar) all night.
Excellent staff - service at dinner was excellent, reception staff also excellent. Friendly and great service. Breakfast superb. High quality food. And I love the gorgeous Bramley toiletries ❤️ (also high quality, ethical and a British brand). Bird song in the morning a delight to hear.

United KingdomThe mattress was fine but a little firm for us. The pillows for me were a little firm, but for my husband they were fine. So it's purely personal choice.
The landlord and landlady were fabulous. Helpful, welcoming and nothing too much trouble. The couple show passion and interest in what they do. The pub has a great history to it. Inside is beautifully presented. Respectful of character and charm whilst homely. Chairs and tables situated well, and attention to detail was shown.

We had evening meal in the restaurant, which has a really lovely atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent. We are both vegetarians and there was a good choice. Service was also very good at both meals. We especially liked watching the bowling, perfect on a Summer evening.

United KingdomSome people may find the ancient stairs difficult - not an easy thing to remedy: it's an old building. Scraping the barrel here to find something wrong.
We found our room to be well appointed and comfortable with a lovely view over the surrounding countryside. All the comforts you could want were provided. However, it is in an old inn, so do not expect it to be like in a boring business hotel: it has character. The food at dinner was good and breakfast too was excellent. The staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

We had booked late online and had requested a twin room for myself and my daughter , some rooms are double /twin but are doubles unless requested, but house keeping had gone home as we did book late but dispite the staff having a busy day with a large party , Lottie and Dan went above and beyond and sorted our room to our request . Our room was clean and comfortable . Breakfast was lovely served by Brad and again good service . We will certainly return . Keep smiling Lottie 😊
