I am used to graft as a business person so I get it. To develop a series of rooms takes time and money. I slept like a log.

Very honest staff, it's very clean & the bed is very comfortable and it's part of major project in progress which they are developing so catering is closeby or DIY. Suited me fine.

There was no signage at the property as it was under renovation so we weren’t sure we were in the right place but we called the owners and they arrived shortly after to give us our key. I think it would have been nice to be warned that the building looked like it was under construction from the outside as this was a bit worrying when we first arrived but it was eventually explained to us and our room was lovely and finished beautifully.

The room and bathroom were clean and well presented, it was nice to have a key to access the property at any time without needing to go through any reception areas.

Breakfast wasn’t available as the premises are still being renovated. An ideal location for us to walk into Tamworth to see the castle and to our friends who we were visiting. The bed was very comfortable,had a good night’s sleep

Don't judge this hotel but exterior looks. Building works mean that it doesn't make for the best first impression but the room we stayed in was immaculate, clean and comfortable. For the price as well, I consider this extraordinary value and we were super close to all the amenities. Would certainly stay again.

My only comment would be that the owners might tidy the renovation rubbish at the front of the property. Otherwise we'll done & keep up the good work at resurrecting a worthwhile Tamworth icon.

Easy walk to Tamworth Castle, Pubs and Restaurants. Very pleasant staff who given that the Gungate is undergoing renovation made our stay lovely.

It was hard to find. There was no clear sign, and when I got there their wasn't anyone on the grounds to let me into my room. I think this was due to them having the hotel refurbished.

Comfy clean fresh room

After a very arduous journey I was met by a woman with a smile that made me quickly forget my journey, very pleasant and ensured I was happy with everything before leaving me to collapse on the very comfortable bed. The room was very clean and fresh, everything appeared to be new (they are undertaking a total refurbishment). This place is a little gem, however they had not put the sign up outside so was a little lost, so parked up and rang for help, as it happens, I was parked outside of the hotel. I will look forward to what this hotel will look like when it’s completed it’s refurbishment, I’m sure they will have no issues getting paid customers who will be happy with their stay. This is the best review I have left for any of my stays.

We turned up at what appeared to be a building site, with no sign outside the hotel. The front yard is just full of rubbish, all piled up - it looks awful. The whole place looks like an absolute tip. When we got parked in the very tight car park, we rang the doorbell and waited patiently while the host drove from his house down the road to get us the key. He showed us to the coach house in the back of the site, and up through a really dingy staircase. The room was very basic despite booking the 'Deluxe Double Room' - the bathroom was falling apart (see photos) and the host explained that this was the last bathroom in the block to be renovated - surely you give the nicest rooms to guests? The plug socket also looked dangerous. The TV was tiny. The room had a strange smell about it, like sticky clogging floral room spray, we had to open all the windows just to be able to breathe. In the morning when we checked out, I texted to ask where to leave the keys and got no response. Really wouldn't recommend staying here - its clearly been in this state for years and it's mad that it's somewhere you can stay when it's clearly a run down building site. I appreciate things take a while to renovate and fix up but the owner stated it had been in this state since before the pandemic which is a bit of a joke for paying customers.

Only thing is that it was a little difficult to find as it sits back off the main road, up a driveway. Maybe a little sign to the entrance would help but I'm not sure the local laws would allow. Definitely recommend this place.

A lovely big room. En suite. Tea and coffee which was restocked when asked. Comfy bed, nothing to grumble about whatsoever. Hosts also lovely.

Difficult to find, no sign on road. WiFi very poor, phone data quicker. Fire doors wedged open, one with a fire extinguisher! Unsure if fire alarm fitted as loose red wire not connected. Building work all around. Windows hard to close, blinds filthy. No toilet roll holder in bathroom had to reach to shelf behind.

It was not explained when I booked that there was building work going on so first impressions were not great and gave me concerns about security. (Everything was fine in the end though)

The rooms were immaculate and even had Disney plus on the television.. the bed was perfect and the shower was so refreshing. Was amazing value for money and fitted the purpose perfectly. Needed a place to lay our heads while I was on a course and that's what we got.
