There was nothing to dislike at all. We couldn't fault anything about the stay.

The owners Linda and Jonathan were so thoughtful and hospitable and did everything possible to give us the best possible stay. The breakfasts were delicious, the house and garden beautiful and restful and the location perfect for getting to York. The room and bathroom were beautifully arranged with everything you could need. The village also has fabulous places to eat and drink, as well as a station, good bus links and shops.

Wonderful hosts welcomed with tea and homemade cake lovely comfy bed complimentary drinks, milk and homemade shortbread in the room, bathroom had all toiletries needed and a bath and shower. Have already booked to return in July.

We couldnt stay longer

There is not one thing we could fault about Grove House. Linda and Jonathan are the nicest people we have met on out travels. We cannot speak highly enough of our visit.

Cleanliness of room, friendliness of hosts, breakfast very good with homemade and locally produced food. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location - short walk to train station and bus stops for a quick trip into York city centre.

We loved everything.

Fantastic food. Linda is a brilliant cook especially the yummy cake on arrival and homemade shortbread in the room, lovely touch! Friendly owners including Penny the dog who couldn't have been more welcoming and enjoyed her tummy tickles very much. Transport links were great. 10 min walk max to the station then 6-7 mins to York City centre. Park and ride also a good option, a 10 minute drive from the BnB. Super clean everywhere, infact spotless. Thank you Linda, Jonathan and Penny we had a super stay!

We were given tea and cake in the garden when we arrived. Our hosts made a table reservation at an excellent local restaurant and offered to drive us there. Our room was lovely and the breakfast the next morning was delicious.

What a wonderful place to stay! From the moment you arrive, Linda and Jonathon are welcoming and warm. They really go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect, Linda even offered to make egg and soldiers for my daughter as well as the already delicious breakfast. The breakfast is extensive and the majority is homemade or local (seriously the best sausages I've ever eaten). The beds were super comfortable, the mattress was amazing and the linen high quality. They take pride in their home and their business, something that is clear from the off. Linda and Jonathan's local knowledge is extensive and they are always there with advice and history to really help you make the most of your trip to York. The B&B location is great, as located in a village it is lovely and quiet, whilst still being a very short train or bus trip into the centre. We felt so welcome at Grove House that my daughter shed a tear when we had to leave, only happy when I promised we would return to see Linda, Jonathan and Penny. I will be recommending Grove House to anyone thinking of visiting York.

I could not fault anything.

Everything about the Grove House Bed and Breakfast is first class. Linda and her husband certainly know how to look after there guests. The attention to detail is fantastic. Our bedroom had a mini fridge with complimentary water and alcoholic drinks, homemade biscuits, tea and coffee and best of all, fresh milk. None of this long life milk. Our on suite bathroom even had a full size bath and a separate walk in shower. The breakfast was freshly cooked and you could have as much as you wanted. Because we arrived late on the evening, Linda even booked us a reservation at the local restaurant and dropped us there. Grove House Bed and Breakfast is a fantastic place and I can fully recommend it. I know that on my next visit to York, I will be staying there again.
