Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomOnly negative was the cleaning staff.. they tried to come into our room before 11am (our check out time) so I told them we wouldn’t be too long and then not long after they started knocking on the door so I opened the door whilst we were putting our shoes on and they came into the room whilst we were still in the room gathering our bags. We just felt very rushed and our privacy intruded.
Lovely room very comfortable and modern which I loved! Also nice quiet area which was a plus, tv came with Netflix and YouTube which was great. Definitely will be back again this year!

You basically get out of the building and you’ve arrived at the metro station. Overall, the place is nice.

IrelandDifficult to locate property initially as over a property agents and not signed very well. The shower was not great, a hose designed for washing hair over the bath placed on the wall at a higher level, it was not high enough and kept falling down.
Very clean room. Excellent super helpful and friendly staff. Super value. Right next to finsbury underground. Nice little shopping area with cafes adjacent.

SpainThe location was unbeatable! It was RIGHT beside the Underground/train station but still far enough away to not hear the trains, but you could see the entrance from the front door of the property! I was actually offered an upgrade by the host Bektas, who was super welcoming and helpful! The room I stayed in was like a studio, super spacious with its own kitchen and a proper table, it was excellent! Like a home from home! Whenever I asked Bektas anything he answered straight away! I asked if I could enter earlier and stay a little later and they made a special effort to ensure the room was ready for my arrival, I was also allowed to stay a little later, so they were super flexible and accommodating! The general location is also great not just because of the tube/train station but also because there is a Café right in front of the property offering coffee and breakfast/lunch and the high street with all ammenities is just round the corner!

NetherlandsWe stayed for 5 nights. They changed the towels because I asked it. That was great, but I think it should be normal to clean the towels after at least a day or 2. Just a really small bin in the room... Just an idea: now there is no cutlery in the room, only 2 small spoons to stir in your tea. If you want to eat something in your room, you have to take a spoon, knife and fork with you in your luggage ;-)
Very well located, next to a supermarket and the subway & trains. We loved the room and the bed. The room isn't big but modern and cozy. Lovely facilities in the bathroom. Clean! We stayed on the 3th floor, so we loved that there was an elevator when we arrived with our luggage! The owner was welcoming in the communication via Booking.com
