United KingdomCould not access WiFi from room. Charging/plug sockets at floor level , hidden beneath bedside tables. Sound proofing obismal and needs to be addressed - continuous loud noises from every flushing toilet, bath and shower throughout the night. Consequently resulted in a total lack of sleep throughout my stay.
Loved the ambiance and quirkiness of the original building. Food and drink is good value for money.

United KingdomAs previously stated the residents car park needs signage. I hsd to ask a local resident. Finding the way in is certainly a challenge and exiting is tricky due to the proximity of a building and a boundary wall.
The location in the middle of the town is excellent, as was the room. There is a very good free car park for residents but the access road is very narrow and tapers towards the hotel end. Also the carpark is not signed and very difficult to find. The staff were very friendly and efficient. There is also a large outdoor seating area which would be pleasant in fine weather. All in all it makes a good base. There is a lift as well, if required.

United KingdomThe location is short of parking and has twisty roads with a one-way system. Inside the hotel it was a little confusing knowing who to approach for reception as it is a large hotel, the reception office was empty at the time, and I had to approach the bar staff. Nobody was looking out for guests checking in. When I had checked in I asked if there was a lift to the 1st floor, and was told there was with brief instructions about how to find it. In all I asked about 3 more people, and 1 person kindly took me to it, as it was in a concelaed place and not easy to find. I still had to find my own way to my room getting out of the lift. Once in my room I found it was cold, as the window was fixed open, and the radiator did not come on even though I turned the control knob. The room and en suite were tiny, with hardly enough room to open luggage and walk around. There was not adequate milk in the room to make more than 1 drink.
The bed was comfortable and warm, with en suite shower and toilet room. I was able to reach the floor by lift. There was a good choice of cooked breakfasts, which were average size, with generous size fruit juice and supply of tea and coffee. I could park on the premises, so it was reassuring to be off the road. The staff were pleasant when you spoke to them.

United KingdomNothing really. We did dine in at the George and meals were okay although I ordered fish one evening but it was overcooked and appeared to have been lying for some time before being served. I did not complain as I was starving at the time.
The room was very nice and clean. Small but we were only there for 2 nights and spent little time in the room. Stairs were a bit tight and my partner found these difficult due to difficulty with bad knees and hip problems. We were offered a room on a lower floor when receptionist saw my partners walking cane but given the length of our stay we declined with thanks.

United KingdomUnbelievably no brown bread ever offered at breakfast for toast. It’s a pub with rooms so no dedicated area for hotel guests at meal times or for checkout etc. They have no place to store your luggage if you arrive a little early.
