Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was a micro fridge with some milk and orange juice but it was not refilled during our stay. Breakfast was cornflakes or granola or a porridge pot which had dried skimmed milk in it. There was a couple of tea bags and a couple of Nescafe tubes and a kettle. We were left 2 croissants the first day but no butter or jam. We had to ask for more the next day. It was barely adequate and I wished I had known before as we could have brought our own.
We stayed in the hayloft, which is in a separate building with its own entrance. That suited us well as we were doing late night and early morning walks at Knepp. There is only one key so staff can't get in if you don't let them in. The room is very attractively furnished and very clean. The bed was OK if a bit hard for my wife. The shower was excellent. Car parked just outside our room. Not much noise from the room below. Pub very friendly with good menu and excellent chef. Not open before 12 noon.

United KingdomOnly complaints are that the bed was a bit squeaky but not uncomfortable and the door to the upstairs apartment I stayed in has a difficult lock to open when locked from the inside for some reason.
Excellent location, facilities were great, staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely.

United KingdomNo breakfast for the second morning!
We were pleasantly surprised to find breakfast in the room for the first morning as this was not mentioned on Booking .Com, but then we were a bit taken aback when none appeared for the second morning

Lovely accommodation in a very peaceful setting with easy links to the south coast and surrounding areas. We stayed in The Hayloft and everything we needed for our stay had been thought of. The room was warm, comfortable, and newly decorated.

United KingdomThere were 3 pillows on a double bed and no spares - should be 2 each. The room was really really cold as was the bathroom. The heaters worked, but the one in the bathroom didn’t warm the space even on overnight. It was February and about 11 degrees. Someone could have just put them on for a couple of hours before we arrived? 10am is a really very early check out time for an inn of this type? And as other reviews have said, I would have expected some sort of breakfast - not pots of make your own porridge. In a room at £50 yes. Not for nearly £100.
It was a lovely pub, the staff were great and the room was tidy and clean and nice. There were plenty of towels and spare blankets. It was handy having a kettle and there was an iron and a toaster if you wanted them.

United KingdomNo 4th pillow, not much choice of porridge maybe ones with fruit in for variety? think there was a toaster in the wardrobe but obviously no bread. We ate in the pub. The staff were very nice and welcoming but the menu was very limited. We would stay again.
A very quaint converted hay barn. We loved the rural views, the room was cute although it was very cold until I got the heating working ( never really worked in the shower room. Be aware it is only porridge in the room which was fine for us on this occasion . The bed was comfortable although only 3 pillows not 4.

United KingdomThe breakfast was not great. It was a basket with tea coffee and a pot of instant porridge, which wasn't great to be honest. We went and found a breakfast place locally instead. The heating wasn't on when we arrived and it took all night to get warm. It was freezing. It was January to be fair.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Perfect for what we needed.

United KingdomA proper coffee machine would be great!
It was a lovely place to stay and sadly I booked in New Year’s Day so the pub was closed. Not their fault as everyone needs a break. I would recommend boating the pub as it looked wonderful. The room was the Stables and has rustic charm. I would stay there again.

Breakfast didn't work for me as its a basket brought to the room. Room was very clean, tv in good working order! There was a delivery of casks for the restaurant early in the morning and the drivers were so considerate! I didn't even hear them at first even though they parked right outside my room.
