Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

New ZealandThe bottom of the shower would fill up every time we used it. We had to have the window open to cool the room down but there was a lot of noise from the street and bar next door.
The location was great for transport - 5 minute walk from the Northern Line and bus stops. There were also nice bars and cafes within walking distance. We were able to check-in a bit early when the room was available.

United KingdomNever saw anyone there, breakfast facilities would be an advantage to attract travellers. Water pressure is low so shower is so-so. Took over ten minutes for the shower tray to empty, I think the drains are probably clogged. Access to parking is via a heavy sliding metal gate, which for a solo traveller would be very difficult, having to leave the car on a very busy road to open it on arrival and closing it on leaving. We left at 9am and once the car finally got access to the highway, we were instantly caught up in traffic on a green traffic light. Not nice.
Convenient for tube station, off-road parking (£10 per night). Bed and room was small and comfortable. Earplugs provided for anyone bothered by the noise of heavy traffic.
