Prior to my arrival I received several lengthy and slightly alarming emails, which appeared to have been automatically generated and gave the impression that there would be a complicated procedure for gaining access to the accommodation, with no human beings available to speak to. I was concerned that I might not be able to get in - in which case I would end up driving 84 miles home rather than breaking my lengthy journey as planned. In fact this was not the case and I was greeted on arrival by a member of staff who was friendly and helpful, which was a great relief. I really think communications to new guests unfamiliar with the area could be improved! Parking outside Foundry 34 is only possible for 1 hour, with a permit on display. After that you have to move your car to the nearby bus station car park, where you have to pay for parking using the PayByPhone App, which I didn’t have… it’s okay I’m sure if it’s all set up - but it was a bit of a pain having to move the car twice, given that there was heavy rainfall during my stay.

My room was great, with a very comfortable double bed to sleep in. My evening meal (baked cod) in the restaurant was fantastic! Breakfast the next morning was great too, with a wide choice and friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Being woken up about 4.00am by the dustmen emptying the bins!!! Light bulbs not bright enough in the bathroom.

Room was adjacent to a patio / smoking area which could have been a problem if anybody had used that area in the evening or at night but as it was that didn't happen so all was good

The tap in the en-suite was the wrong way around you should move the lever to the right for cold and left for hot this tap was incorrectly plumbed ,there was a extractor fan constantly running all the time and lastly the smell of cooking was a bit off putting and the blind in the bedroom was thick with dust .i travel a lot with work and notice these things.if you sort these small issues you would have a first class place to stay .

The registration process seemed laborious with a process which seemed still to be based around Covid procedures. I regularly book weekly hotels and this seemed more of an arduous approach with duplication of many of the details already submitted via Booking.com

Foundry34 is a a lovely boutique hotel with a nice restaurant on the ground floor. I had the flatiron steak which was excellent. Breakfast was also well presented.

I was bombarded with requests to pre-register on line which I consider to be totally unnecessary post-pandemic particularly as the Reception is manned from.4 pm to 10pm. Sadly whilst the room was a reasonable size the very low bed had only a thin mattress and was not very comfortable

Very short staffed on the first note so took over 30 mins to get our drinks despite there only being 3 or 4 other tables in the restaurant. Room was good inside the room, but could hear a lot happening outside the room (other guests and outside of the hotel).

Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was good, also had dinner there one night which was very tasty! Good menu for food and drinks.

We were woken around 2am by a group of people shouting abuse at each other from the area in front of the main restaurant.....they were moved on but the incident lasted around 10mins. Not Foundry 34's fault, something that's out of their control

The staff were super. The rooms were a little disappointing - the single room smelt awful but the lovely member of staff managed to move my friend to a different room after we approached her. My double room was tiny and also smelt musty but it was lovely and clean and comfortable. The restaurant served a delicious evening meal and breakfast. The staff were so friendly and accommodating which would make me want to return. 😊
