Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFelt it was a little overpriced. Had to vacate a lot of spiders & be comfortable being v close to nature. I don't mind this at all but it may bother some folk. Few things were missing like milk for tea, tea towels & bin but still a v pleasant & charming experience.
Stunning location & so peaceful. Was quite happy to sit on the bank of the river & listen to the water & birds and breeze, no extra entertainment required! :)

United KingdomI didn’t mind at all but some people may not like going outside to the separate bathroom.
Quite unique. I loved the location. It was very private and quiet. I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.

United KingdomThe cabin lies next to the riverbank. There are 2 little bridges, the larger one is flat and wooden so care in the dark and the wet. It is very quiet and rustic and is a good glamping option for those on the South Downs Way as a stopover. The nearest pub does good pizza and is 18 minutes walk away. There is a heater in the winter and an induction hob which is reasonably easy to operate. The toilet and shower are in a separate and adjacent hut but be aware that the toilet is not a flushing variety if you are sensitive about such things.

United KingdomDidn't like is too strong a phrase, maybe there could be a better way of storing the sugar/coffee as it had clumped together, but this is a very minor point.
The location is great, so peaceful and to be able to open the door straight on to the river was amazing. There's some clever touches that make the accommodation work really well, like the hanging storage. Above everything else though, it's the owners that make this place the joy it is, Not just friendly, but genuinely helpful, they really made our stay feel special.

New ZealandThe facilities may not look like they would in a hotel; however, they are kept up to and beyond a good standard.
Stayed here while walking the South Downs Way. Although, it is a little off the path it is definitely worth it. With a lovely host, who went the extra mile to drop us into the village for dinner, and a morning spent next to the gently running river made us want to stay another night!

United KingdomAll good :)
Great place to stop if you're walking the South Downs Way. It's a beautiful spot and the owner was lovely. Photos of the place are accurate. Warm beds, all the right kitchen equipment, and nice touches like hot water bottles and fresh milk in the fridge. It also feels very private. May was a beautiful time to be there with trout jumping out of the river and goslings wandering around.

United KingdomThe location is outstanding and tranquil. A real treat to be on the waters edge in a very cosy cabin. The hosts are truly welcoming and had a great eye for attention to details to make this a really enjoyable "experience". Superb Bacon sarnie in the morning.

United KingdomNot necessarily a negative, but perhaps a rejig of the single beds or swap for a double may attract more couples away on a break. Absolutely ideal for people wanting to hideaway and be productive for a weekend though.
An excellent secluded place to stay with tons to do (surprising for the location you are in) surrounded by tranquil streams forking from the Meon river, right outside the cabin door. Plenty of wildlife (Herons, Deer, Ducks, maybe even some trout in the spring). Best is youre on private land. Cabin is incredibly cosy and well equipped. Host was could not have been more welcoming and kind. Lovely walks, churches, villages and pubs nearby.

United KingdomSmall changes would make a big difference: nicer towels, a chair or two to put clothes on, a chair in the shower, a few household products such as washing up liquid and a dustpan and brush, a door mat. The shower cabinet was pokey and awkward and the shower gel cheap and nasty. There is a 2 or 3 meter walk to the shower hut, not nice in the rain. The accommodation was was about as pricey as a hotel and not a tenth as comfortable.
Chris was friendly and helpful, locking up our bikes for us. It was lovely to wake up next to the river. The small electric hob was quite fast.

United KingdomRather damp - we were cycling and very grateful that we didn't have to dry out and we kit. Toilet was described as composted, but was actually a toilet seat with a plastic bag underneath.
