Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI've stayed multiple times in various rooms and my biggest frustration is the fixed shower heads that send out the tiniest streams of water that go everywhere except where you want them. Flexible shower heads would be a superb upgrade.
Location is the reason I book the hotel. Its clean and comfortable enough if you are traveling for work.

PortugalHowever, we encountered a couple of minor hiccups during our visit. Firstly, the noise from outside was noticeable, which slightly disrupted our sleep. Additionally, the room was a bit chilly at night, despite our efforts to adjust the temperature. Besides this, we were surprised by the incidental damage deposit of £50 requested the day before our arrival, but the process was smooth, and the value was promptly restored the next day without any hassle.
My boyfriend and I had a delightful one-night stay at this Cambridge accommodation. The room had a cozy ambiance and comfortable bed, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The bathroom amenities, including shower gel and shampoo, were a thoughtful touch, adding to the overall convenience of our stay. The provision of coffee, tea, and a machine with hot and cold water was a welcome bonus, allowing us to unwind and refresh at any time during our stay. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Cambridge. The combination of excellent facilities, great location, and comfortable amenities made our stay truly great.

United KingdomBad experience with check in… staff talking to us through a ring doorbell. We hadn’t been able to check in online, the notification said I hadn’t paid when I’d paid in advance. It was a shambles to be honest. The idea is good but it didn’t work for either of us in two different rooms due to the check-in link online not working and trying to talk to someone in possibly another country on an intercom when noisy traffic was passing. It worked in the end but there was 15 mins of unnecessary stress …
Lovely room, good location for Cambridge Junction. Hot drink’s available, very comfortable and clean.

GuernseyPersonless hotel so everything is done by codes which is great when it works but not so great when it doesn’t. My room code did not work and I had to wait an hour until it was sorted. They staff worked really hard to get it done for me but the hours wait meant I was late for my plans.

United Kingdom* It's a shame there's no kettle - I brought my travel kettle though. * The windows don't fit very well so there was some traffic noise.
* Cheap and cheerful - I was at a university event so wasn't in the room very long, so it fitted the bill perfectly. * Very good location - easy to get to from the train and an easy walk to the city.

Clean and comfortable bed. Good room temperature. Pin coded entry worked well. No noise disturbance from other guests. Good price for the location.

United KingdomRoom was by the front door, so those happy and more-than-likely tipsy souls (bless their cotton socks) returning in the small hours woke us up several times. I did ask to move, but hotel was full (it being the weekend I suppose).
Location was fair - bit of a step to centre; but arriving and leaving by train, it was near to station, which was helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen with complementary tea and coffee was an excellent and appreciated touch. While the room was on ground floor and to the front, at least it had smoked glass. Street noise generally stopped after rush hour.

United KingdomRidiculously over complicated check in procedure when all I needed was a room number and a four digit code. I also objected to having to post a £50 deposit through my credit card, a new one on me.

United KingdomWindow was poorly fitted and communicating with staff via whatsapp was tricky. Make sure your phone has battery when you get there or write down the code! There was some confusion with invoicing as well, which was sorted out fine.
Cosy room nice and close to the station. Luggage storage after the checkout date was a lifesaver.

ItalyUnfortunately, there are some flaws: poor quality window glasses and shaky, that you can hear the traffic or people talking on the street, right downstair. And the bathroom, despite being modern and clearly recently renovated, was so narrow that to sit on the loo you had to bump into the sink, (not suitable for people with limited mobility, this room was booked last minute for my parents and they struggled a little bit). Maybe it was just that room in particular, but overall a good value price for Cambridge!
The location of the hotel is excellent, right behind the station street and near the city center. The room was comfy, clean, and spacious, the self-check-in was easy and immediate.
