The room, wasn't impressed really it was like an attic room, bed wasn't that comfortable and the TV was tiny which was worse because of the size of the room

We are in the restaurant was really nice setting, food was great and so was the service

The communal areas could do with being cleaned more regularly. Shelving was very dusty and carpets didn’t seem to be hoovered whilst we were there which you would expect being a dog friendly hotel. After breakfast the restaurant didn’t then reopen until 5pm which is a long wait for food if you just want to relax around the hotel. The hotel is not near any shops or restaurants so they should really have food available at all times for guests. It doesn’t even need to be anything major just maybe sandwiches, soups or something small for lunchtimes/snacks, or even offering a picnic box for guests to take out with them to the beach or on their walks. I think the hotel is missing a trick here. The rooms are rather noisy, we were in a dog friendly room on the ground floor and the guests staying on the first floor woke up at 5am each morning we were there. It sounded like a stampede of elephants running around above us until they left the room for breakfast at 8am, so didn’t really have the best sleep. The rooms were also very hot as heating tended to come on and off randomly.

Communal areas were nice and modern. It was very cozy and snug to relax in. The rooms were modern and fresh and had all you needed in the for a short stay. The outside space was beautiful and green and very close to the stunning Roanhead Beach which was perfect for walking the dog and admiring the scenery. Loved the fact it was dog friendly, so nice to be able to take your fury friend away with you. The food was also delicious when the restaurant was open, very tasty and nice big portions. There was also a nice selection of beverages at the bar. Staff were friendly and helpful when needed and with resources available to them.

The room we stayed in was very warm even though the radiator was not on. The rooms are not very soundproof as we could hear conversations in the hallway and also a dog barking in another room. The shower is smaller than a standard shower.

We liked the location of the hotel. The decor of the foyer, restaurant and downstairs lounge rooms was beautiful. The room we had was very spacious. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious and served very quickly. Front desk staff were very friendly!

No option of hams and cheeses for those who prefer a continental breakfast. Overpowering smell of bleach in room.

Booked a table for 6pm. Sat down at 5.55pm. Ordered food at 6pm only to be told at 6.15pm that they had ran out of one of the specials. Received our order at 7pm which wasn't what the other 1/2 half had ordered. Couldn't be bothered to wait so she ate it. Not good service.

Breakfast is a buffet type breakfast with a very good selection. Rooms are fine, a little basic. Good if you are taking your dog or dogs. Although there is a £15 per dog charge.

    As mentioned above.

The food was very tasty, We did have to wait along time for our food but when it came, it was good. The staff were young and very polite but we have 3 separate mistakes with our food and drinks order. There were 2 older members of the restaurant front of house staff but this didn't seem to help. We have stayed many times at The Dunes but it's the first time we've had an evening meal. Maybe, we won't try it again. It wouldn't stop us staying again, we've eat breakfast twice and that has always been a good experience.
