Fairdene Cottage was perfect. So adorable and comfortable. I was able to visit Balmoral and also the Ballater train station with a replica of Queen Victoria's train carriage. I loved everything about the cottage and its location.

Pros Definatly far outweigh 2 small cons but Small separate garden isn't fully enclosed but the outer one is so the dog can make a run for it but not too far. One too many air fresheners

Great location and well equipped. Warm and cosy, with easy walks into the hills from the front door. Great communication from host and property was spotless and is clearly well looked after.

Very central and nice small cottage, with everything you need for a getaway weekend. Friendly owners who were happy to help with things to to and see.

It was a wee bit small, not a lot of room to relax in, or to have open suitcases to rummage in. The dining table and stools were a bit uncomfortable to sit at. Having said that, we honestly enjoyed the cottage, and the hosts were very pleasant. I’d recommend it for 1 or 2 people who want to be out and about a lot.

We provided our own meals here. The cottage was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. It was close to the town centre, and to Balmoral Castle and lots of walks. We used it as a base to travel around the whole peninsular.

The seating in Lounge/kitchen was not comfortable and tbh would only use them if a child size person however it’s the perfect place if you’re simply looking for a hot shower and comfy bed for a night or two. The kitchenette helps as you are able to make tea coffee light meal so that’s a great bonus. The location is fab as a base if those staying want quick access to the village and walks/exploring local area. The host was attentive and very welcoming.

Great hosts, quick to respond. We travelled from Derbyshire for a wedding. We were fortunate enough to have a week of beautiful weather. We had the windows fully open in the property and was quiet during the day and throughout the night. You don’t see a lot of cars on the roads. The property is such great location, just a short stroll into the centre where you can find lots of good food options, bars and an amazing ice-cream shop. The butchers and fishmongers are one to visit too! There’s a great swimming spot in the river near the caravan site. All the locals are extremely friendly. Thank you for a great stay ❤️

Location excellent. A real home from home - very comfortable. Great layout for quite a small property. Everything considered. Particularly like the outdoor space - great to have somewhere to sit as the weather was lovely.

Communication was excellent. The host was really helpful, giving advice on where to eat and about whether my 6'5" boyfriend would have enough headroom in the cottage - he did! The cottage was beautifully furnished and just like the pictures.

This cute, quaint cottage is ideally located to the centre of town, with shops and pubs very close at hand. Lisa and Martin were fantastic hosts and the cottage had everything to make our stay comfortable and cosy.
