Lifts were out of action, 6 flights to 2nd floor up the fire exit, only bathroom light working in room, no signal on t.v. it did not bother me due to the time I arrived but informed staff for future reference

The air conditioning unit needed cleaning as the filter was clogged up with dust, causing it to shut off during the night, this made the room extremely stuffy.

The parking is an issue. Too expensive and it's £12.50 for 24 hours meaning I spent £25 for a 2 night stay. The staff didn't know that the price advertised on the website was different to the price on the app. The secondary parking area was not mentioned until I prompted them and when I tried the code it wouldn't work. The only reason I chose this hotel was the price and when you are in the parking charge I could've stayed elsewhere. The location is awful, it's like a scene from downtown LA or zombie apocalypse when you walk towards the centre, drug taking, gangs hanging about and obvious crack heads on each corner. On top of that there is an obvious sewer issue in that area that can't be mistaken.

The lift was broken and we were on the 6th floor, absolutely spoilt our stay, was a nightmare to climb that amount of stairs especially with a small child. We're also informed by another guest that the lift issue has been ongoing for a good few weeks.

Friendly staff, lovely young guy on checkout polite and gave us ice to take to our room and sorted someone to help us with our luggage. Good variety at breakfast and friendly happy staff

My husband has one leg and on crutches and lifts have been out for over a month. Crutching up to the second floor several times was a health hazard. If we had of been told before hand I would have gone elsewhere. Kettle didn’t work but were given another one. Staff were extremely helpful. Dinner in restaurant was ok. Our room stunk of cigarettes and staff shrugged it off

Breakfast was ample. Bacon. Eggs. Toast. Cereals. Yogurt. Coffee was good too. Had the best nights sleep. Pillows are great and comfy bed. Bar and restaurant onsite

Breakfast was poor ran out or hot breakfast very soon and not replenished from what l could see. The bedding and the room did smell of cigarette smoke and as a non smoker that was quite overwhelming.

Lift not working

The lift doesn’t work, and hasn’t been since April 2024(according to the staff). Our room was 208, and we had to carry our baggage up 8 flights of stairs and down again for check-out. There was no help altho we requested for it. Darriel helped with one bag only during check in. The kettle was not working, they replaced with one full of scales and later changed to a working one no scales after we complained. The fact that the lift doesn’t work and will not be fully in use during our stay should have been told to us before we paid in full (we paid b4 our arrival). We would have stayed at a different place. We are 63 & 64 years old. To carry our luggage up and down 8 flights of steps was really inconvenient.

Darriel at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I like that breakfast is on ‘grab & go’ for early travellers like us. The hotel allowed us to pack even before 6.30am(that’s when their breakfast service officially starts). The train station is walking distance and so is the high street.

It would have been nice to have been pre informed that the lifts were out of action and have been for a while according to some of the staff. In addition although the hotel says it has parking it is very small, not just the number of spaces but also the size of the spaces so if you have a larger vehicle you are really going to struggle to park. Saying that there is a public car bark not far away.

Very friendly staff who really made you feel welcome. Nice drop off area in front of the hotel. Rooms where clean, neat and tidy.

We highly appreciate the properties in this hotel chain. Unfortunately, the location of this hotel is not a very touristic one and it does not seem very safe either. The hotel is under renovation, you go up the service stairs, not very fancy. The rooms, however, as we are used to: clean and decent. If you come by car, you should know that they do not have their own parking lot, but it is a closed parking lot, it costs 12 pounds for 24 hours and you must have an account on the ring go application. Unfortunately, this app only supports UK phone numbers. If you come from another country, you cannot register with the phone number from your country. We lost a few hours until we managed to pay for the parking lot, because we happened to be during Easter, with days off.

Hotel surrounded by road works due to Council redevoloping area. Difficult for pedestrians to approach hotel and locate entrance. Lift wasn't working. Two flights of stairs with luggage late at night with an injured ankle wasnt fun. At Departure time I had to extend time due lift being out of use and walk to station difficult.

Hotel good value. Breakfast good. Clean and tidy. Bathroom too. Good bright and airy room.

Car park not available although off site parking was offered. The sofa bed was the most uncomfortable bed ever.....kids couldn't sleep on it so I ended up giving the double bed to them and trying to sleep on the sofa bed myself.
