Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomPlates cracked and no plug for kitchen sink, shower dripped long after use, room and hallway could do with freshen up of paint, wardrobe and kitchen doors not properly fitted - nothing major but attending to these would change it from a passable to an really pleasant stay. View out of the window onto offices but we didn't mind this so much as the location for areas of London were great.
Great location, safe and easy to access accommodation with exterior and interior door locks, reasonable space in apartment, warm and comfortable. Had the convenience of hob and microwave for basic cooking. Brand new comfy mattress and good pillows.

United KingdomThe checking in process was unclear. Insufficient instructions were provided about checking in at the booking stage. It appears the guest has to call them on the day of arrival to complete the process i.e paying the damage deposit of £350 before further details about checking in can be provided. Unless guests are available to do this in good time, they may be left stranded and rushing at the time they need to check in. This responsibility on the guest to contact them is very odd and in any event, should be made much clearer at the outset. The other issue was the ‘no guests’ policy. I had no issue with this whatsoever but I was asked repeatedly, at least 4 or 5 times if i was ‘sure’ i wouldn’t be having any guests even though I made it clear in writing that I was not.

United KingdomI was told someone would meet me. No-one there but when called was told they had sent me an e-mail with the door code. True - but only that afternoon and I had been working and not reading e-mails. Why say one thing and then do another? I kept getting phone calls as the trip approached asking me to basically complete a registration process the upshot of was to provide a deposit. It was all very time consuming and unnecessary. I had to write several times to get an invoice. The shower thermostat was stuck on hot. And the water was very hot. It was dangerous. Surely someone must check these things? Overall the flat was tired.

United Kingdomthe mattress was partially sunken so I didn’t sleep very well; the bed spread and floor were a bit dusty; there were some odd spots in the bathroom sink, maybe from repairs (it looked like glue that had remained stuck). I couldn’t figure out the heating but there was no staff to ask - the check in is all automatic via email.

JapanChecking in process was bit complicated and took some longer time. If you want to book this hotel, I'd recommend you to book minimum a week before planned checking in date. Wifi was very weak.
Location is the best area to anywhere in London. It's located near Blackfriars station. There are many good pubs and nice Indian Restaurant. The cost is very affordable price compare than other hotels around there. Although stairs is bit narrow and old, but room is very clean and tidy. Shower room is very clean and looks almost new.

United KingdomDamp!! The damp in the kitchen is just awful. Really bad. The shower curtain is not long enough for the shower and the water goes all over the floor. The glass shower door is actually placed in the living room leaning against the wardrobe. Very dangerous. View terrible. Room 3B. Windows are very dirty. Blinds broken. It could be such a beautiful apartment. It just needs TLC. Had to upload ID. Had security £250 back no problems. The apartment needs a good decoration and damp needs sorting.
The location was perfect. No hassle getting instructions. It was quite easy to find the door on the street to the apartment. The apartment could be so lovely. It just needs some TLC

United KingdomThey pushed hard to get a damage deposit, but when the property was without any electric for a number of hours, there was no offer of recompense. They advertise checkin is available from 3, it isn't, they send you an email telling you to check in at 3, but this was late and we had to call to chase. Staff were rude and unhelpful. The process hides behind GDPR, and everyone I spoke to advised they all fully understand it. They then argue when you try to explain within the UK it's Data Protection Act 2018. They send policies when you ask questions, and are unable to provide any details.
It's a great property in a fantastic location.

They said to call to see if I could check in early but phone wasn't answered. Basic accommodation with no frills but pleasant enough. Tired property with dreadful 'view' from the bedroom window (only window).

United KingdomApartment really needed a proper clean. Tiles and shower screen were dirty, bathroom bin hadn't been emptied. Floor by bed had previous guest's hair on it and tissue under the sofa. Plus the cleaner walked in at 9.15, when we weren't due to leave til 10. Ironic! I did email StayInn when we arrived, but they offered nothing to rectify it. The secondary glazing didn't keep the traffic noise out.
Location was good, very close to transport links and easy walk to Tower Hill in the east and Covent Garden in West. Apartment was an OK size for the two of us.

MaltaThe place was dirty. The shower water was barely going down the drain. We asked for some one to clean and in 4 days no one showed up. We had to wash anything from the kitchen ourselves as everything looked like it had been used and put back in the cupboard. We also asked permission to allow another relative to come over for a rest while we switch and watch over our relative in the hospital and they said no.
The location is great, and the apartment had everything needed. We booked on the same day to stay close to relative being treated at St Bart's
