Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt is very basic, no tea making facilities in the room but we brought our own. Shower opens directly off the room so if you're sharing you definitely need to know the other person well...Absolutely fine for an overnight stay.
Very well placed for our visit to Leeds Playhouse, 5 minutes walk away. Also close to the Markets Area for multiple food choices. Bed was comfortable, other facilities adequate for a brief stay at budget price.

IndiaRoom size was a bit small , but hey , we always knew that. No complaints for solo stay , was rather comfortable. Breakfast options could have been a bit better with hot food options , but understandable that at budget stay , the economics may not allow it.
Standard IBIS stay in the heart of the city. Friendly staff checked me in the top (9th) floor with a panoramic Leeds city view. Walking distance to bus station & Royal armoury with a nice boat ride available for railway station. Eating options on Uber or a quick bus ride to city centre. Have a decent bite menu downstairs.

United KingdomI was disappointed I had an email to check out today at 10.30 - 11am. However a member of cleaning staff was banging on my hotel room door at 10am shouting at me to get out immediately. I found this very intimidating and distressing I felt really anxious and it put me off staying again otherwise a delightful stay.

GermanyDissappointment that the room didn't have a chair. Instead there was a stool, so not great if you want to get some work done on the desk. Breakfast was good, but unimpressive (not an english/yorkshire breakfast). No hair dryer in the rooms.
Nice place to stay. You get what you pay for, simple. Wifi was decent, about 40 mbps up/down. Staff were nice, and rooms were cleaned everyday. View from my rooms was excellent, you see the entire Leeds skyline. 20 mins walk from the Train Station and 10 mins walk from the bus station.

United KingdomIt's been made clear that it's a budget hotel, however, HOW budget is a different story - there was no kettle or tea making facilities, except for two paper cups, and I have seen/heard that there was some in the lobby, but I didn't use them. Being an essential British facility, I think it would have a 10/10 score from me if they implemented this because otherwise, there wasn't anything bad about the room at all. I only wish it was made clearer on the booking/advertisement. Additionally, no hairdryer so bring your own otherwise (last time I checked) it's a £10 charge from reception.
Great location and near the town centre, though if you're a lone female then I would recommend getting an Uber to be on the safe side. I had a room overlooking the motorway but I was too high up to be affected by the noise - I had a great few of the city and it looked nice with all the lights on at night. In general, the hotel was easy to navigate and sports a modern design with keycard activated lifts for safety. I liked the simplicity set up of the room with its own toilet cubicle with a separate shower that had great pressure; recommended for a short stay. There was a vending machine in the lobby.

United KingdomI have some questions about the quality of the room checks. Someone had written a slur on the blind, and it obviously wasn’t caught. Also, the only plug was completely on the other side of the room, which I understand can’t be helped, but was mighty inconvenient.
Booking far enough in advance, the price was very cheap! The bed was warm and the place was fairly comfortable. Also, free WiFi was a bonus, and the reception staff were very patient, polite and friendly!
