This is not a dislike, but maybe slightly larger bottles of shower gel and shampoo would be my only gripe.. sorry.. All in all, I was very happy and would come back... 😊

Andy and Valerie, thank you for allowing an early check in, my room was also ready.. was clean and comfortable.. everything you need in a room.. breakfast was included in the price... Great stay, this being my second stay with you.. location is close to the seafront, south parade pier and canoe lake... everywhere is within walking distance if you just want to walk.. otherwise public transport, taxis bikes and scooters are available to hire... me I walked to and from fratton park.. a great weekend.. 👍😎

Mattress and pillows were a little uncomfortable but the room overall was.nice and very clean and tidy.

Car parking was tricky. Car park out front would get 3 or 4 cars in dependent on size and consideration of first guests to arrive. Parking out in the road ( free with a voucher from the host) could be a better option for guests with bigger cars. Standard room means standard double bed, not king size. For more than one night consider a twin room.

Clean room, heating fine, bed comfortable, kettle and tea, etc fine. Plenty of hangers and enough drawer space. Great breakfast with plenty of choices. Well prepared and served. Friendly and attentive host.

Nothing to dislike as our guest hosts Andy and Valerie so warm and friendly and we all received an excellent service from themselves at their Esk Vale guest house and with a superb breakfast personally served to ourselves by Andy in morning we really enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend their guest house if you are staying in Portsmouth at anytime. 10/10***

Our guest host Andy warmly greeted ourselves when we arrived and there were plenty of parking spaces available to park our car on their driveway which was then reserved for us for only £5 for our whole stay there and both myself and my husband and my sister-in-law had two lovely on-suite bedrooms on the ground floor which were both beautifully decorated and we had a very comfortable double bed with two side drawer cabinets with a nice table lamp on each side with a drinks coaster each provided which was a nice touch and included on the desk opposite was a lovely tray with an electric kettle and plenty of tea, coffee, milk and sugar sachets with biscuits provided for ourselves to enjoy while relaxing watching programmes on the flat TV screen above the desk, also plenty of lovely soft white towels provided and new wooden hangers in their open slated cupboard to hang our coats/clothes on was just perfect and we even had a small portable radiator to plug in if we felt cold at anything and our on-suite included the toilet with plenty of toilet rolls, a lovely sink and shower unit with a nice selection of toiletries provided, what more could we want and with an superb breakfast included in the morning we would definitely stay with Andy and his wife Valerie in their lovely Esk Vale Guest House when we are visiting Portsmouth again and will definitely highly recommend them to our family and friends for their warmth and excellent service. No complaints at all!

I have used Esk Vale about 3 times as an overnight stay before a running or cycling event. It's clean and comfortable, and very reasonably priced. The hosts are very helpful and even let me store my bike in their shed to keep it secure overnight!I've never had breakfast as I have to leave early! It's in an excellent location for me as my events always start near the DDay Museum.
