Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The house was great for our family (2 adults, 2 children), the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and practical, the lounge room and dining room were spacious and suited us well, the on-site parking was convenient, the WiFi was good quality and very useful.

United KingdomNothing to do with the apartment but Darlington needs to up their taxi availability in the area! We were at the James gig which is at the other end of town, and couldn't get a taxi for love nor money from this location! So just something to be aware of. But nothing wrong with the apartment itself!
The apartment is really spacious, comfy beds and good bedding! Well equipped kitchen. Very tidy. Lots of parking. Close to a couple of supermarkets. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Just the one bathroom, if you had 3 couples there may be a bit of queueing going on but only a very minor thing! Crucially can be found by 'Just Eat' :) very well informed by the owners about key safe and entrance to the apartment!

United KingdomThe boiler had been turned to hot water only so the heating didn’t come on, only figured it out on the second day. Very naughty of them and it was freezing! The post code for the property is wrong so it took a while to find, which was rather annoying. Mobile number for guest services didn’t have a clue, I don’t think they’re based in the UK. The corkscrew was broken - also highly annoying. Had to go out and buy myself one. Beds are a bit hard for me but they had nice warm blankets. No proper coffee making facilities. Not even a cafetière. Could do with a hand towel rail or ring in the bathroom.
It was nice and spacious and well decorated.
