Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Open and spacious. All cutlery, crockery and cookware was spotless. Small list of info for the property. Location is fantastic. Close to all amenities. 2 minute walk to public car park. 23 hours free parking. Good quick communication from host when required

United KingdomWe would have liked 2 pillows. There was one each. The bedroom could have done with a chair and a table or something similar. We had to put everything on the floor! No mention of the heating was made and it would have been nice to have the heated towel rail actually on in the morning! The bathroom was a bit worn and the toilet seat loose.

United KingdomA manual for the radiator (was it also a fan?) and for kitchen appliances would be useful. I was surprised that I had to strip the bed. Is this normal for this sort of let? It would not be easy for anyone with 'old' fingers, managing the zips on the covers. The little and uneven steps from the street should be mentioned as tricky for anyone with less mobility. I found the lack of any surface to put clothes on in the bedroom difficult but my daughter tells me this is a generation thing! There is room to add a table or cupboard... Most of what I didn't like was because I am quite old and the flat is geared (beautifully) for younger generations.
Very comfortable bed. Very well equipped kitchen. Excellent location for the cathedral, a brilliant Indian restaurant and a street market. Very clean and bright. Good TV screen.

It was spotlessly clean with lots of space . It was very centrally located but very quiet at night. The kitchen area was well equipped with tea coffee milk etc all left for us. We would definitely stay again.
